Welcome to the urban 'museum' of Parisian fashion. This department store is like walking into the pages of Vogue. Incredible clothing (especially the lingerie department but would you expect anything leas) and people watching but be prepared to pay an arm plus leg plus tax! Sales lessen the sticker shock. A stroll costs nothing.

My favorite department store in the entire world is le Bon Marche. The oldest department store in Paris, this luxurious left bank store has an incredible selection of goods, ranging from great shoes and clothing for both women and men, to amazing pots and pans, to an astounding selection of buttons and ribbons. Bon Marche is an exceptionally pretty store and it's much less hectic than the big department stores on the right bank and tends to have a better-curated selection than either Printemps or Gallery Lafayette. My husband and i loved the Bon Marche registry program and I would suggest it to anyone getting married in France. Also, no other store has windows as clever as those at Bon Marche.

Since I never fail to visit the Chapel of Miraculous medal whenever I am in Paris, I usually check in at this market which is right in front of the chapel in Rue de Bac. Its basically a huge shopping center but with interesting finds. The architecture of the place is interesting.

Le Bon Marche is Paris's and one of the world's first modern department stores. You can find all sorts of goods, but you will probably stick to window shopping because the prices are pretty expensive

Le Bon Marche ("the good market", or "the good deal" in French) is the name of one of the most famous department stores in Paris. It is sometimes regarded as the first department store in the world.

My favorite place to shop or just gaze longingly... take the 70 bus and you will be delivered like Cinderella to the ball!

If you are going to shop in Paris then this is one of the places to do just that. The building itself is interesting and we just walk around inside and use the bathrooms.

This is a massive department store with good and high quality goods. We came here to shop for a birthday gift for my daughter but my husband, my other daughter and I all left with things for ourselves as well because there were so many objects which attracted us.

This is not a bargain basement, you pay for the quality but I thought it was not a bad value and it was great to have so much choice.

Worth a trip to La Grande Epicerie (the food department of Le Bon Marche, now owned by LVMH) - all French culinary treats beautifully displayed. Great for small gifts to be brought as souvenirs to friends and family or simply for a taste of "la vie parisienne".... the French DO shop there too.

This is a galleria with lots of brand clothes and products. It's similar to Gallery Lafayette. Definitely check it out if you are looking for brand products.

Description

Le Bon Marché has the distinction of being the first department store in the world. The historic Parisian shop has a rich history as well; parts of its structure was designed by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, the engineer and architect who created the Eiffel Tower. Founded by Aristide Boucicaut in 1838, the once-small boutique now sells everything from clothing to housewares.
