Can't beat the location of this hotel - it's right on Las Ramblas, the main drag in Barcelona. Rooms are decently sized, and despite the central location, they aren't noisy. Service is very friendly, as expected from a Starwood hotel. Treats included free coffee in the cafe for two, along with free admission to the local modern art museum. Would definitely stay here again.

Like anywhere else in the world, the Meridien is always a safe bet. The rooms are clean and the staff was very helpful. The location is also ideal. You must visit the Boqueria Market, on Las Ramblas, only a five-minute walk from the hotel. The market is full of typical Spanish foods and delicacies, great for grabbing a quick bite in the morning. You are also walking distance from most of Barcelona’s tourist attractions including the Gothic and Born neighborhoods. My only issue is that I found the rooms to be a little small. Go for dinner one night at the hotel’s restaurant, as it’s a great place to try some traditional Catalan specialties.

Walking into Le Meridien’s lobby you’re instantly thrown into a lively, friendly and warm atmosphere. Other than the lack of a pool, the Meridien pretty much has everything. It’s ideally situated, close to the Boqueria on La Rambla and half way between Plaza Catalunya and the beach. The free international newspapers on hand were a definite plus and their fitness center was well equipped with a variety of machines. Their complimentary business center downstairs is good for checking emails, although if you need to do a lot of work I’d bring your own laptop as it can get fairly crowded near the computers. There is wi-fi access in the rooms although it’s not free. In the evening, enjoy a few cocktails in Le PopBar where it’s always busy!
