Service may br slow, but who cares when you are in paradise, and that is truly where you are when you are in Bora Bora. The staff goes above and beyound to accommodate your wishes. The over water bungelos are pretty nice as well

Le Meridien Bora Bora is an experience. From the moment you get off from the airport, a private boat will escort you to the hotel. The ride is good 10 minutes or so, upon which you gaze at spectacular view and aqua ocean so clean you can see clearly to 100 to 200 feet below.
The hotel is located in a private part of the barrier reef. From there, a porter will greet you and carry all your belongings to the front desk located near the bar. The concierge will hand you a drink as you get checked in. The porter will move all your bags as you finish the check in process.
There are two main types of rooms, a private bungalow located on the beach and over the shallow water. Here's a key thing to know. Bungalow located on the water is definitely more interesting, which has a big window in the middle of the floor. At night time, fish and other sea creatures will swim underneath (as they are attracted to lights illuminating from your room). In addition, the room features a private dock. Room service will bring food from a canoe and setup the small table located on the deck. Sounds great? Read more.
While the beach bungalow lacks these amenities, over the water bungalow has few major disadvantages (aside from higher cost). Perhaps the biggest is noise. Depending on the location, you may be subjected to rather creepy wind noise. The room will also move few inches per day, which may induce a bit of motion sickness for those that are very sensitive. And because the room sits on the wooden pier, you will hear people and electric service vehicles as they pass your room.
Aside from beach vs. over the water, the room isn't as luxurious as one may presume. The room is definitely stylish, but there's a bit of molding (perhaps common for hotels located on the water).
The service and resort features are impeccable. Food is delicious and far better than interContinental which I also stayed (very pricey so I recommend getting at least the daily breakfast package). The main restaurant is absolutely stunning, easily ranks among the most beautiful restaurants I have been to. All the resort activities are complementary, including kayak, snorkeling (including famous private lagoon with turtles), and boat ride to the main island. There's activity almost every night, such as dance and cooking demonstration.
All in all, Le Meridian Bora Bora is a romantic getaway you will never forget.

Bora Bora is incredibly beautiful and I give Bora Bora an overall rating of 4 stars. I would give it 5, but it's the most expensive place I've ever been and the food is not great.
The Le Meridien is on a lovely spot with a great beach, but the bungalows are small and need some upgrades. You're also right between the Intercontinental and the St. Regis so it is hard not to have "hut" envy. Spend the extra money to stay at the Four Seasons.

Island paradise for couples who desire rejuvenation! From every angle, this place is picture-perfect. My husband and I went to Tahiti on honeymoon after 2 weeks of roughing it in a New Zealand camper. All we wanted was luxury - and that's what we got! Over-the-water bungalow, crystal-clear lagoons, clear skies, friendly/helpful staff, and pure serenity.
