Before I moved to Budapest this is where I would stay when visiting for business or pleasure. The location is fantastic - cannot be more centrally located or convenient in terms of metro and walking to most things you want to see or be near. Rooms and common areas aren't anything special, BUT, they are definitely of 4.5 star quality as is the service. And the rates are usually VERY good compared to 'Western' standards.

Very nice hotel in a great location near restaurants and shops. You can walk to the Danube river. Great restaurant where we were able to eat traditional Hungarian food and watch a folk dance show. We had a blast. The staff at the hotel and restaurant was awesome.

Le Meridien Budapest offers the simple elegance and service that the high end traveller expects from a major 5 star hotel. The overall service is impeccable without being overwhelming. The hotel is centrally located in the former Adria Palace just off of Deák Square which is the main transportation hub of Budapest. The former palace offers high ceilings in a light filled clean white space. Visitors have easy access to both Váci Street and Andrássy Boulevard which are two of the major tourist streets. However, the concierge service is amazing offering suggestions for restaurants, sites, and even art galleries that might not be obvious to a visitor. The attached restaurant Le Bourbon is considered the best French food in Budapest. The north facing rooms have a wonderful view of St. Stephens Basilica and are tastefully decorated. Due to its central location it does tend to get a little noisy during the evenings especially in the summer, so if you are a light sleeper, I would recommend a room on a higher floor facing one of the quieter streets.Recommended for:Luxury Travelers

Start the day with the breakfast of champions at Le Meridien, more specifically with a cook who prepares the most important meal of the day to your specifications. Just make note that breakfast is not included in the room rate. This great, white, gleaming palace in the centre of town is most popular with businesspeople, despite the fact that although cable internet in your room is free, wifi comes with a surcharge. Standard rooms are of decent size and proportions, although if you have money to burn, one of their larger accommodations, such as the Diplomatic Suite (a snip at 1500 € per night) is bound to make you feel like a visiting oligarch. If you can afford that, you’ll definitely be able to afford to park in the rather pricey garage downstairs. Overall, service is every bit as polished and professional as you would expect in such establishment.Recommended for:Business Travelers

It was a simple hotel... elegantly simply but simple none the less. I suppose that has more to do with the culture there. After all, we're not in Vegas Elvis... erm, Todo... erm, you know what I'm saying. Dark colors, dark wood, and dark marble... Everything here is nice and most importantly it is located right by a metro train. From which you can go almost anywhere of import. And theres a station that is located right by a public outdoor bath house. And bath houses are fantastic.
