I spent several nights here over the course of a client project I was working on just up the street. The Le Meridien is in a great location- close enough to walk to the pier and the Ferry Building and close enough to a plethora of great dining options at all price points. The lobby and grand floor are quite sophisticated and you will find a demographic of mostly business travelers in the lobby. Check in always went very quickly and the staff was always welcoming and efficient. I had a pleasure of staying in a handful of different rooms and suites during my visits and they were all great rooms with great furniture. My favorite rooms were the ones with balconies with some fantastic views of the bay and surround areas. It seems like some of the hotel rooms have been recently remodeled because they are designed differently than the older, more traditional rooms. The biggest benefit to this hotel is definitely the location.Recommended for:

Very nice rooms, clean and comfortable in the heart of SF's financial disctrict. Very covenient to walk around, right next to Embacadero center which as full of shops and less than a mile walk to the ferry buliding.

My wife and I spent a night at the Le Meridien for our anniversary this year and had a very nice stay. The hotel is located in the financial district near the Embarcadero center. Not much to do in this area on the weekends, but it was an easy cab ride to almost anywhere in the city (walking distance to union square or north beach). The rooms were spacious and clean and what you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The beds were amazing, though. Super soft and comfortable. Try to get a room up as high as possible - we were on the 23rd floor and had a view of the bay, Coit Tower and the TransAmerica building. On the weekends there is a parking garage a block away where you can park overnight for $7 and save a lot of money. A good business hotel or base for seeing the city.Recommended for:

One of the nicer hotels in SF due to it being more modern and not run down compared to the rest that aren't located in SoMa.
Located in FiDi with nothing going around at night, only reason to stay is for business reasons or accessibility to Ferry Building, perhaps Union Square and Broadway. Nice views of surrounding area due to being one of the taller buildings.
If luxury is important and location second, then check this hotel out.Recommended for:
