When travelling in Montreal, especially during the winter, after a day of touring and visiting, walking and shopping through the downtown core, if you’re like me, you want to get back to your hotel into a place that feels warm and soothing; that is the sense you get when walking into Le St-Martin. The lobby is reminiscent of a luxurious foyer, possibly inspired by a movie scene from the golden age of cinema, close your eyes and you can almost imagine Humphrey Bogart and Eva Gardner sitting by the fireplace exchanging jokes and sipping martinis that were shaken up in l’Aromate, the hotels bistro/lounge that is located just beyond the sitting area and a popular location for downtown lunches or a traditional Montreal 5à7. Beyond that, Le St-Martin offers that extra mile service that often gets overlooked in hotels today; the rooms are large and relaxing, a spacious layout that doesn`t make you feel as if the bed engulfs the entire area, and with a classy decor of marble and tanned wood finish topped off with a gas fireplace (in most rooms), that one might take advantage of after a visit to the outdoor heated dipping pool, and await the daily snack cart that visits each room (between 4-6pm) offering a tasty distraction of spirits and something to nibble on. Comfort and care and clearly the themes of this centrally located downtown hotel and it is safe to say that although many hotels offer good customer service, Le St-Martin offers excellent customer care.Recommended for:
