Wonderful locals-only restaurant specialized in grilled meat and fish served on hot stones. Well of the beaten path, you will likely be the only non-Swiss visitor. The views and service are lovely. Vegetarians will struggle but can find a few options.

A trully relaxing way to spend an afternoon. Surrounded by the Alps, the location is fabulous. It has a large complex of saunas, hamam, colour therapy, indoor and outdoor swimming pools. You may be at the indoor pool and listen to classic music underwater, or outside on the different bubble pools and circuits or whirlpool rapid. Fabulous time with family. ...Popular withWellnessOutdoorFamilies

The famous Fondation Pierre Gianadda offers fabulous art exhibits and is a very popular destination for travellers and Swiss alike. About a 60-minute drive from Leysin.

Trailhead is accessible by post bus or car. The trail from there is quite busy, and gives some great views of the valley, but especially of the glacier looming at the head of the valley. There is a hut further up that can accomodate quite a few hikers, as well as a lake near the trailhead that is a very ...

Only a 15 minute drive from Leysin or a short bus ride, the Glacier is located at approximately 3,000 meters. There is a stupedous view of the Swiss Alps along with excellent skiing and hiking. I enjoy the roller coaster. Take a ski jacket even in summer.

Enjoyable intermediate-level ski resort offering exceptional views of the surrounding alps. Though there are fewer and less difficult runs here than in Verbier and other more popular areas, the laid back local nature of this resort and the great views make it well worth a visit.Popular withOutdoorAdventureFamilies

This is really a review of the surroundings: We visited Tignusa in early August to watch the Sierre-Zinal race. It's a great vantage point, and excellent starting point for hiking (and they look ready for some nice skiing too). There's an observatory there as well, and restaurant, etc, all right at the top of the funicular. For the kids: grasshoppers ...

A worthwhile place if you've never had the Swiss bains experience. The pools are quite crowded but the views of the nearby mountains from the outdoor area are nice. The water runs a rather tepid 34 / 35 Celsius -- good for a longer stay but somehow not quite warm enough. Bring a swimsuit and, ideally, a towel. If your ...Popular withFamilies
