The Eiffel Tower is one of my favorite structures in the entire world. No matter how many times you've seen photos of this landmark in books or in movies, nothing will prepare you for the first time you see it in person. I was so overcome by it that tears started welling up in my eyes when I first set ...

We walked up Les Champs-Élysées on our way to L'Arc de Triomphe. Honestly, it was nothing special - just a bunch of regular stores. The view up the avenue to L'Arc is quite nice, though.

While the historic river flows lazily through the city, you'll always find some excitement on its banks. Most of the major attractions aren't far from the water.

Rodin's sculptures are breathtakingly alive. While "The Thinker" is the big attraction here, don't pass too quickly over the rest of this genius's work-the marble truly suggests movement. Make sure you check the opening hours before you go. And go into the garden while you're there.

The gardens are lovely, although not the best Paris has to offer. Go here for the fantastic views of the Eiffel Tower.

The museum that holds Napolean's Tomb has great exhibits for both World Wars. The Tomb closes early in the winter since it's almost all natural light.

Viewing Paris from the river perspective is something different and really worth the trip. Most of them leave from the Eiffel Tower, go around the Notre Dame and all the way back to the Statue of Liberty. You get an audiotour with history of all the bridges, buildings and events that happened on the river bank.

While walking down the Champs-Elysées, we come upon the flagship Louis Vuitton store and go inside. First of all, if you're a fashionista or know one, you'll know that LV is expensive, popular, and for whatever reason, a status symbol. But what you might not know is that the flagship store in Paris has an art gallery upstairs on the ...

One of the best spots to snap your token photo of the Eiffel Tower from. Here is where you'll get the view you see in all the postcards.

Large gorgeous building that hosts a variety of different exhibitions, everything from circus to video, photography, paintings and historical artifacts. I went for the Bill Viola retrospective which was absolutely amazing considering I had never heard of him before. Check the website for upcoming exhibits.

It may be a typical tourist thing but none the less I really enjoyed it! They went by all the main tourist attractions and played a track that told you the history of several points along the river. This museum, also called "Musée des arts premiers", presents indigenous art, cultures and civilisations from Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. The simplicity of this art, and sometimes the naiveté, fascinates me. The visit is an exotic travel in time and space. The building designed by the architect Jean Nouvel is also a good reason to visit the museum.

Palais de Tokyo is one of my favorite cultural spots in Paris. Along with their ever-changing exhibitions, the bookstore in the ground floor is great for art and fashion magazines and books. There are also several restaurants, including Tokyo Eat, a casual restaurant with very Parisian atmosphere with good music, nice drinks, and reasonably priced food.
