We wanted a boutique hotel and chose the Library Hotel because of its great location and cute theme. The one complaint we noticed here was the size of the standard room so we booked a junior suite. The size was very ample with a king bed, table, couch, arm chair and blanket box at the end of the bed. The bathroom was not large but had plenty of shelf space and was very well lighted and clean.
The hotel has lots of extras including an extensive continental breakfast and wine and cheese in the afternoons.
Staff was very friendly, helpful and quickly got to know us, which is one of the advantages of a boutique.Recommended for:Art & Design Lovers

This boutique hotel is a NYC experience all on its own. Not only does this hotel have exquisite rooms and offer complimentary breakfast, wine & cheese reception and Wi-Fi, but you also have access to their writers den, reading room, and poetry garden. Located in the heart of midtown, you are a hop, skip, and a jump from the NYC sights yours kids are dying to see!

An understated boutique hotel in Midtown East, the Library Hotel gets a lot of librarians and book-lovers, who enjoy the hotel's expansive collection of books, provided by Strand, and its "writer's oasis"-themed lounges. The rooftop bar has several themed writer's lounges that are open to guests all day. With their rich leather sofas and brightly lit rooms, the hotel offers a great environment for writers and guests who are just looking to relax after a long day. The amenities are great too. Coffee, tea and pastries are available all day long in the main lounge, and a wine and cheese reception happens every evening. The rooms are very spacious, and decorated with literary objects, such as books and vintage typewriters. Floors are themed by genre, which adds to the hotel's literary feel. It's a great hotel with an eclectic theme, but still provides the luxury and elegance you might expect from a hotel in Midtown.
