In Piazza degli Zingari, this wine bar/cafe/art gallery is gorgeously run by the Calabrian Margherita, an independent woman business owner who works her tail off and has a great wine list. The crowd is a nice mix of expats and Italians. Rotating art exhibitions add to the fun.

You would be hard pressed to find a friendlier bar in Monti. Independently owned and run by Calabrian Margherita, who never takes off her tango heels, locals and newcomers alike come here and stay longer than they planned. Their wine list is excellent as well; try the Nero di Troia.

By far my favorite bar thusfar in Rome. The bartender, Ricardo, was extremely friendly. The space is totally cool and the cocktails are relatively cheap. Five euros gets you a full menu of drinks, and there are also choices ranging from quality beers to a modest aperitivo option. Library books line the wall within the two rooms upstairs. Downstairs, you'll find several more couches for lounging.

I cannot reiterate how friendly they are here. They totally made me feel at home and I'm really grateful.

Description

You may miss this bar if you're looking for the words "Bohemian" prominently displayed. That's because it's marketed in the street as a "Libreria." Appropriately, the laid-back lounge does indeed house a healthy selection of books. But what really brings people here are there cheap cocktails (starting at 5€) and the incredibly hip space.
