This was the best meal I had in Italy, hands down! The seafood was so fresh and they had amazing pasta to go with it. We had panna cota as dessert, I have never had a panna cota as good as the one at trattoria dal billy. To finish off the meal they brought us limonciello to sip on. The ...Popular withLuxuryAdventureLocal
There will be a line, and you should stand in it. You will see a case of meats with prices. You choose a meat and a cheese and a spread (you can do combos too) and the price is what you pay for your sandwich. Just a couple of euros will get you an INCREDIBLE sandwich. Very popular with locals ...Popular withFoodiesBudget

Gayle and I "dined" here on the 2nd evening we were in Cinque Terre. We had enjoyed a substantial Lunch in Corniglia (after hiking there), and decided to "go easy" for Dinner. Our Rick Steves' book led the way (and just down from the Church). We were seated outdoors and under a canopy directly across the street from the restaurant ...Popular withBusinessFamiliesBudget
Perfect for who loves sea food. I high recommend "Penne agli scampi" and "Grigliata di pesce". Friendly people, they have tables outside as well (always summer when I been there). It's the place I always stop by when I pass by that region. www.ristorantejollylerici.it
Mamma mia, did we eat well here! After a grueling (albeit scenic) hike from Manarola, through steep hills, this atmospheric harbor-side eatery was a sight to behold. We immediately started with a bottle of the regional white and a plate of garlicky mussels, and for the main course, I had the famous seafood risotto with squid ink. Located in a ...

There's no better way to cap a day of strenuous hiking, followed by gorging on wine, mussels, and seafood risotto then a generous scoop of creamy gelato. I tried the cinnammon flavor, which sounds unusual but is amazing..they will also pour a shot of espresso over it.
Via Venti is a quiet little trattoria, that's a little out of the Via Roma Way (one street over). The food was inviting and delicious (see pictures), but even better were each couple sitting on either side of us. To my left was an older Australian Couple, and that conversation turned on their Country's unique brand of Football and describing ...Popular withBusinessFamiliesLocal
On our first full day in Cinque Terre, we headed out to hike from village to village. It took us about 3.5 hours (with breaks and a climb up the signature tower) to go from Monterosso al Mare to Vernazza, and finally to Corniglia. At this point, it was time for a good Lunch. We chose Osteria Mananan, although it's ...Popular withFamiliesOutdoorLocal

The service is pretty slow but the pizza and pasta are good! Probably better for take out than eating in.
During our recent stay in Monterosso, the Midi Bar was our go-to place for Gelato every day. I know that there are many opinions on who has the best version and what flavours are better, but for these 2 wide-eyed Americans, this place was just fine. It's conveniently located on the Piazza Garibaldi and a short walk from almost everything ...Popular withFamiliesBudgetLocal

Gayle and I found this nice little Pizza place on the Via Capellini as we were wandering around during our too-short visit to Portovenere. We wanted to eat "light" as our vacation calories were starting to catch up with us, and we knew we'd probably blow it anyway for Dinner that night. I enjoyed the decorative touches here at Falli ...Popular withFamiliesBudgetStudents

An Genoese institution. Sadly, Maria passed away several years ago. Her family is carrying on the tradition of preparing & serving traditional Genoese faire at a reasonable price. Eat downstairs or up, it's all the same. Good food all'italiana! The restaurant is conveniently located in the cultural & shopping area of Genoa so, before or after, there is something to ...Popular withAdventureFoodiesFamilies
