    Billy the Kid was jailed here and killed a marshall and a deputy making good his escape. Originally built as a mercantile store, it became the courthouse after the Lincoln County War. Now it's Lincoln's chief museum.

    The Torreon

    The Torreon is a small, rounded tower in the middle of Old Lincoln. It was built in the 1850's as a defense against Apache attacks. When I was in Lincoln the door to the tower was locked but you could see inside.
