For the traveler who prefers the intimacy of a B&B it is hard to imagine anything better. Located within easy reach of downtown Portland, the Northeast Convention Center, and the Rose Quarter, this B&B oozes a character and charm that its ownership has tended well. It is an "old" (1905) house with a lot of history that helps give character ...

Oh yesss, a stop into this LV store is not to be missed. The best way to justify that $1300 Louie bag? NO SALES TAX. Splurge without too much buyer's remorse! The selection is good - not great. The shop is twice as small as the SF store, but it's sufficient. Customer service was friendly and patient. I couldn't decide ...

Wandering around Portland's Pearl District, It was awesome to stumble across an actual bricks-and-mortar retail outlet of my favorite New Zealand wool clothing brand. Sure, it's not cheap. But it's sustainable manufactured and with some care, one of these wool sweaters, jackets or pullover tops should last you 10 years.

Bar Avignon is an upscale bar specializing in French wine and French food. That said, the focus here is the word bar, so the menu items are limited and the servings are small. The happy hour options are unique. I had manila clams with sausage and fennel. I also enjoyed the duck pastrami and foie gras stuffed pasta. The foie ...

Truly a City of Books! Powell's in downtown Portland takes up an entire city block plus a second building! There are several rooms each with various sections. Make sure to make it all the way up to the Pearl room on the top floor to check out the rare book collection.

Simply one of the best children's museums anywhere. School age kids love it, and there's stuff to keep mom and dad entertained too. Worth the trip.

Multnomah Falls is one of the iconic views of Oregon. Beautiful from the parking area/restaraunt, a short walk up a paved path brings you to a bridge above the lower falls, and close enough to the upper falls to feel the spray. Continue about a mile more, up 11 switchbacks, and you'll get to stand at the top of the ...

Ahhh! Finally found it! I've tried to get to it a couple of times but always got side tracked until finally one day I looked up and there it was! Of course the Portlandia Statue is one of Portland's great tourist attractions. It not really all that much to see but regardless for Portland it really is a must see!

Portlanders are truly spoiled with all of your happy hour spots - and the fact that they happen daily kills me! After having some stiff cocktails around the corner at Teardrop, we decided to continue happy houring here. Love the waterfront park in Portland! In the summer everyone comes out for the festivals in the park along the waterfront. Sometimes the lines can be long but overall Portland is not terribly crowded for a city. In fact the park is sometimes even better when there are no festivals on and you can enjoy the waterfront in peace and ...

From the square you are at the center of the city, the heart of the downtown. Big beautiful open space at the center of where the two sets of Max light rail trains meet. This open space is popular for performances and often at the center of city festivities!

Hands down the best farmer's market I've ever seen! All natural, high quality vendors most with samples! The market has very high standards and only accepts a few new stands out of approximately one thousand applicants each year. The most incredible variety of meats, cheeses and produce. Also, prepared foods, deserts, jams, sauces, soups and so much more. Great selection ...

Located on Mississippi Street in North East Portland, Mississippi studios brings in a younger, dare I say “hipper” crowd. This location can be somewhat of a trek if you don’t have a car or bicycle, but it has become one of the staple venues in town to see fantastic live music. Besides that, in general Mississippi Street is an attraction ...
