I stopped in last Sunday at the North Portland Bike Works, when a Sale sign lured me in. They were offering 30% selected clothing including some pretty spiffy rain gear. The place has a very nice community bike store vibe, with a Berkeley touch. They also sell new & used bikes, parts and accessories, and operate a full-service repair shop.

I was wandering down Alberta last Saturday evening, and happened by the Six Days Art Gallery during an Opening. The room was filled with good energy and happy patrons, so I decided to check it out. This reminded me of a convention-attending friend, who would wander into another group's reception and easily strike up conversations like she belonged there. In ...

I went on Sunday evening to see their famous Sinferno performance because I had heard it was quite good. On their website if says Sinferno starts at 9PM but when we arrived they informed us that the live bands start at 9PM but the stage show didn't start until 11PM which was a bit of a bummer because the trains ...

Massive vintage store in the Hawthorne section of Portland. Cool vintage items and lots of clothes tons of variety not the best pricing for the quality. There are so many vintage and second hand shops to choose from just in Hawthorne if you are looking for higher quality second hand this wouldn't be my first choice, it's a bit too ...

Binks serves drinks in the popular area of Alberta Street. Moroccan motifs and lamps are displayed throughout the bar, giving Binks an exotic dive-bar feel. Also, tea inspired cocktail drinks are their specialty so if you like you're iced tea mixed with alcoholic flavors, then Binks is meant for you.

I've been here once for a school field trip (when they were exhibiting the human body) and it was a very enjoyable experience. The exhibits and artifacts are very educational and kid-friendly. The museum is very large and family-oriented but appeals to kids and adults alike. Definitely come with family or younger people for a fun learning environment!

Love the waterfront park in Portland! In the summer everyone comes out for the festivals in the park along the waterfront. Sometimes the lines can be long but overall Portland is not terribly crowded for a city. In fact the park is sometimes even better when there are no festivals on and you can enjoy the waterfront in peace and ...

Ahhh! Finally found it! I've tried to get to it a couple of times but always got side tracked until finally one day I looked up and there it was! Of course the Portlandia Statue is one of Portland's great tourist attractions. It not really all that much to see but regardless for Portland it really is a must see!

The Lan Su Chinese Garden is a walled garden in Portland that takes up an entire city block. The garden may be popular, but there are plenty of nooks to enjoy quiet, peaceful moments. Don't miss the Tao of Tea for a cup of tea and small bites.
