Beautifully restored castle built up on the hill above Ljubljiana, it now houses some restaurants, an exhibit, a lookout area, and also a tower which you climb for a few Euros.

Built ontop of a hill and overlooking the old town. It has an excellent view of the town and the river running through the center of Ljubljana. There are walking paths to reach the top, but if you aren't in the mood for hiking there are also railcars that will take you up the hill.Recommended for:History Buffs

On the castle you have a view over Ljubljana. You can either walk to the castle or go by cable car or a little train/bus which drives you up the hill.
In and around the castle you can find many exhibitions, Cafés and a Restaurant. You can book different packages which include cable car, tours and the admission to the tower. It's definitely worth to go there to have at least a view over the city. :-)

In the middle of the city center, but just enough away from him on a pedestal as a mighty medieval fortress. With its privileged location offers visitors stunning views over the surrounding area, as well as walk through the past and move away from the rush that the government everyday underneath.

This modest medieval castle built in 1144 is perfect for city views and picnics on a summer day. The castle is partially open to visitors as its remaining portion is dedicated to art performances, exhibitions and social functions. The structure itself is not impressive, but the views are worth the cable car climb.
