From the moment I walked onto their grounds, I felt swept away into a South Pacific paradise. Of the three resorts at Universal Orlando, this is by far my favorite. And yes, it's because I think I'm in Indo-China when I'm here and not in some artificial Floridian wonderland! The lobby, restaurants and rooms are exquisitely decorated in hardwoods, bamboo and native sculptures. The pool area is also very nice - although it is more inline with standard Orlando theme park fare. I was surprised to learn that Loews considers this their family resort and Portofino their luxury property. I felt quite the opposite, that I was pampered here, but thrown into a cartoon playland over at the Portofino. To each their own, but I'm a sucker for a well done Asian-jungle motif and this place has it done!

Ok its on the strip to the parks has a lovely free boat ride to the park area. It has great restaurants and some shopping. The service is superb. The best part for me was a nice heated pool. I was here during December when its cold. I loved returning in the evening and hanging in the pool. The rooms are like the other major hotels not much different.Who cares in Orlando we spend so little time in the room probably no more than 7 hrs a day if so much.

All I can say is what a neat place! I have never been to the south Pacific but if I had I would imagine that it would look something like the Loews Royal Pacific Resort. Upon entering the main entrance you walk across a bridge that spans perfectly landscaped Philippine style countryside right down to the carefully detailed palm fronds. A beautiful Asian themed fountain and rock garden area presented itself in the main lobby, while the rest of the hotel was adorned with dark hardwoods and bamboo. The hotel was exceptionally clean right down to the carefully manicured white sand beaches and cabana areas surrounding the pool. What a fantastic place to get away from it all without having to leave the country.
