I like seeing Lombard Street after hopping off the Cable Car, taking in the amazing Bay view, and then walking down. I'll admire the architecture and the flowers, and watch the tourists. Then I'll either continue onward or climb back up.
If I'm driving, you'll find me over at Vermont Street on Portrero Hill. That's the other crooked street and I have a great time scaring the crap out of my out-of-town guests as we go around the block a few times.

A must visit for anyone going to San Francisco. At the very bottom of the hills is where everyone gathers for the photo op. when facing the hill (from the bottom), look to your right - Alcatraz. If you can manage, get into the center of the street and snap a quick picture. The view is very nice!

What a fun little spot to stop off at while visiting San Fran. Take a cable car there, I think it's the Powell line that runs right along the top or drive and park somewhere near by, or drive down it :) that's always fun too. We visit Lombard every time we are in town because... it's just a fun little stop, get in a quick climb up and down the street, snap a few pics, take in the views and be on your merry little way. We love it!

Once in SF everyone wonders where is that crazy curve street. Def a must see! Don't bother taking a lot if pics from the top, than going down and do it again. Usually there are a lot of tourists but if you get lucky and arrive at an empty Lombard St, why don't get the chance and drive down that zig zag???!!!!!

Not the crookedest street in SF as is popularized in tourism information. But it is definitely the prettiest crooked street in SF. You can walk up and down the street or drive down the street if you'd like (no driving up i'm afraid). The top does provide some pretty spectacular views. It's especially beautiful in May when the flower are in full bloom

If you can visit this landmark you should, it is worth the experience. But, please be prepared for traffic! If possible park close and just walk the street , that gives you the chance to stop and take pictures without causing a pileup!

The crookest street in the world: The street was once used as a shortcut to Hyde Street for horses and wagons to deliver groicers to keep from going several blocks out of the way the flowers were beautiful the cab ride down the hill was crazy and the homes were out of this world : Our cabdriver is a blogger and showed us his blog thetaxidriversguidetosanfrancisco.blogspot.com
