Luxury Hotels in London

Millions of people inhabit London, England. This sprawling city, while not as rainy of a city as many imagine, is rich in culture and arts and has more than enough of both to share with visitors and residents alike. Iconic structures like the London Bridge, the House of ... read more
Parliament, Buckingham Palace, and Big Ben are just a few must-see spots for visitors. While it would be hard to see everything London has to offer during a short trip, you can live like the British royals (or The Beatles) with their vast selection of luxury hotels.

The Soho House London is a private, members-only club filled with many restaurants, entertainment, high-tech gadgets, and plush linens. After a long day of sightseeing, go up to The Roof Deck for a few drinks before heading out into London’s nightlife hotspot of Soho. No worries about inclement weather-- there exists a retractable roof-like awning for the summer and a hard top roof with heat for the winter. Head out to Soho after happy hour for an area filled with quirky stores, bars and restaurants, as well as luxury dining establishments like L’Escargot and Kettner’s.

To emulate the experience of staying at Buckingham Palace, choose The Ritz London. Not far from the Palace itself, this hotel maintains it’s luxurious feel with plenty of golden decor, antique furniture and a chateau-like exterior. Come dressed up for the classic English afternoon tea at the Palm Court to feel like royalty and enjoy many delicate pastries. Continue your day of stately activities and head down the road to the Royal Ballet to take in a show at the famed Royal Opera House.

The Marylebone area of London is an affluent area in the City of Westminster. Hotels like The Landmark and Mandeville Hotel are both elegant hotels with a bit of attitude. Decorated with unique artwork, spacious rooms, and a stately outward appearance, The Landmark and Mandeville Hotels live up to the fashionable and understated area of Marylebone. Not only is London home to dignitaries and international rock stars, London also is home to many fashion designers, like Jimmy Choo and Vivienne Westwood. Because of this, a luxury shopping experience can be truly unmatched. The Landmark and Mandeville Hotels put guest in prime shopping locations, like Bond Street, Oxford Street, Picadilly Circus, Selfridges (one of the world’s best department stores) and the nearby area of Covent Gardens.

Another top London luxury hotel is the St. Martins Lane in the theater district in central London. Designed by famed interior designer Philippe Starck, the interior of this upscale hotel is as dramatic as the theaters themselves. After feeling inspired from Starck’s work, head out to a show at one of the West End theaters or continue to walk through works of art and history at some of the best London museums. Explore museums like the British Museum, Design Museum, and the Museum of London for a few examples; all a short tube ride away from your home away from home in London.

    Hilton London Paddington

    Hilton London Paddington

    Hotel Class:

The Hilton Paddington is superb for lodging before jumping on the Heathrow express and flying out of London as it is inside the Paddington Rail/Tube Station. The standard double rooms are well maintained, comfortable and relatively modern, though slightly noisy on the side facing the rails. The Brasserie serves mostly European flavors in its breakfast, lunch and dinner on a ...

    St. Ermin's Hotel

    Hotel Class:

Similar prices to the big chain hotels in London but WOW, what a gem! Loads of history (Churchill's SOE, meeting place for spies etc.) in a building dating from the late 1800s but they've done an amazing job of restoring every inch of the fabric - it's truly spectacular! The rooms are a decent size (for London at least) and ...

We picked this for location for a weekend stay. We found it to be the best London hotel we have stayed in ever (have not tried the luxury hotels). Hilton London Islington

    Hilton London Islington

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    4 reviews

The Hilton London Islington is a perfectly serviceable hotel in one of London's younger neighborhoods. Islington's Upper Street is full of cafes and restaurants, so the best strategy is really to use the Hilton as a crash pad which is accessible to fun by foot and via the Northern Line, just a couple steps away at Angel tube. The 1970s ...

Great location! The staff was friendly, knowledgable, and multilingual. The location is perfect because it's quiet and out of the way but only a short taxi ride to many of the main attractions or there is a Tube station right across the street. The famous Black Friar Pub is also located across the street. Love this place!

    Myhotel Bloomsbury

    Hotel Class:

Myhotel Bloomsbury is what would happen if spirituality, hedonism, and modern design got together and had a baby. It's brightly colored, with buddha statues and a zen fish tank. The Merkaba restaurant has a typical Euro menu with Asian bar snacks. The location is quite good, in picturesque Bloomsbury, although if you're looking for a classic London experience of Georgian ...
