    The Hempel Hotel

    The Hempel Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    5
    4 reviews

This hotel really hits the nail on the head (for me, anyway) in design. The rooms are big, light and airy, with white sheets, wood floors, and rustic muted green and red touches. I would decorate my house kinda like this. It's small, so the service is personal and attentive, and the vibe is luxury but not stuffy. You do ...

    The Langham, London

    The Langham, London

    Hotel Class:
    4
    13 reviews

The Langham does luxury extremely well with professional, personable service and elegant, sumptuous interiors. The standard double rooms aren't large, but any extra space you may need can be found in the spa, which is Asian themed and lavender scented. The executive suites come with access to a private lounge with very English tea sandwiches available for refreshment.

    Charlotte Street Hotel

    Charlotte Street Hotel

    4.5
    20 reviews

My new favourite spot for a cocktail in Soho, the Charlotte Street Hotel is stylish, low-key, and a great place for anything from an afternoon business meeting to an early aperitivo. Their fig caipiroska is a revelation in alcoholic fruits.

This is soon going to be everyone's favourite hotel in London. A stunning refurbishment of this old Gothic Revival building is now the hub of an entire area which is now filled with really fabulous restaurants and bars. If you have the budget then it is worth a stay. If you don't then at least check out the bar at ...

    Claridges Hotel

    Claridges Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    5
    13 reviews

You can't understand London without seeing places like Claridges. The old aristocratic vibe is undiminished here. Ogle (tastefully) the gorgeous art deco design and soak up the atmosphere that has attracted heads of state and Hollywood stars since its opening in 1856. We recommend afternoon tea here, even if you are not a guest.

    The Stafford Hotel

    The Stafford Hotel

    Hotel Class:

Great service and classic elegance never go out of style and the Stafford has both in spades. When I was at the Stafford in September, I was struck by the subtle yet powerful improvements the hotel has made to itself in recent years. I was expecting the hotel to feel and look more modern, but it looked like the Stafford ...

    The Ampersand Hotel

This is a very friendly and comfortable boutique hotel, right in South Kensington. Prices are very reasonable, at least for now and the hotel is only about a year old, so everything seems quite clean and new. Despite the fact that my room overlooks a busy street, I have slept incredibly well here, thanks to the incredibly comfortable bed. The ...

This beautiful Mayfair hotel also has a stylish offer for afternoon tea. Choose gentleman's or ladies' snacks (savory and sweet, respectively) and, opt in to bottomless champagne for just a few pounds extra. Sure to get you ready for a night on the town, or, just stumble back up to your room.

    St Martins Lane Hotel

    St Martins Lane Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    4
    29 reviews

It's a nice hotel, but by the I was most impressed with the minimalism that is rampantly displayed everywhere. It kind of reminds me of the standard hotels back in LA.. except that everything in the room was white. I just wish I had more time to spend inside, but alas, when traveling abroad, the room is the last place ...

Our guest, Simon Burrell, on One Aldwych: "Besides being an excellent choice as a luxury hotel, near Covent Garden, One Aldwych does ‘Film & Fizz’ night, which costs a very reasonable £42.50 per person. The evening starts off with a welcome glass of Lallier Champagne, a 3-course dinner in the excellent Axis Restaurant and then you are escorted into their ...

    The Kensington Hotel

The Kensington Hotel is a glamorous hotel with top-notch service. Upon arriving to discuss a booking, I was offered a cup of tea (unique among the many London hotels I've spoken with) and graciously accommodated. The rooms are spacious and brightly colored, with cashmere throws on the beds. And I definitely want to schedule my next party at the Aubrey ...

    Four Seasons Park Lane

I stayed here for three nights a few years back b/c I accidentally left my passport in a curry shop. (Long story.) My brother stays here for work every few months, so I'm sure I got the special little-sister treatment, but the staff was outrageously, unbelievably helpful and accommodating. I arrived while my brother was on a plane and had ...

Tucked into a Bloomsbury townhouse, the Academy Hotel does the British literary vibe to a tee. Fireplaces and striped wallpaper distinguish the 49 rooms, while the small size means personalized service. This is also a great location for exploring Soho and Bloomsbury.
