    Ping Pong

Really yummy dim sum! Missing several traditional dishes but it makes up for it with some fun and really delicious combinations. Good prices, too, for what you get.

    Bar Boulud @ Mandarin Oriental

    10 reviews

Indeed, a greatly innovative fusion of French—English cuisine served on a contemporary fine dining ambiance adjunct to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. All of its terrines, pâtés, hams and saucissons are produced in-house and are delicious. The wine collection is diverse and extensive; the new world wines are selective and moderately priced. The service is memorable.

    St John Bread & Wine

    9 reviews

Original menu without being pretentious. Fabulous foie gras toast for starters followed by melt in your mouth black angus on watercress. Lovely table wine followed by brown bread ice cream. Friendly atmosphere and they have no problem with how long you stay (we sat there all night!). Loved it. Major win for me.

This was one of the most brilliant meals I have ever had in London, or anywhere. The flavors of the food were extraordinary, and the wine list was outstanding. Service was impeccable and I would rank this as one of my best dining experiences ever. Which is saying a lot because I've eaten in a lot of great places.

An impossible to forget Belgium treat! This restaurant is literally well-regarded for its muscles, fries and beers, though it serves good additional meat, pasta and vegetable dishes. The ambiance is casual, but especially welcoming, particularly the underground space.

    Dinner by Heston Blumenthal

    7 reviews

Mr. Burrell was searching for a great, typically British restaurant recommendation and this is his top choice. "Why? Because it is not ridiculously expensive and all the recipes are taken from ancient English cook books. He also owns my local pub and the food there is wonderfully good value!"

A good restaurant to have Italian food, sometimes they do vouchers, so check their website. They also have a gluten free menu - ask for it!

The fantastic quality tapas at this tiny, personable restaurant in Soho is well worth the wait and the moderately expensive price. Whilst you wait to be seated at the counter (there are no reservations) you can enjoy a snack and drink and watch the action in the kitchen - before the real fun begins. The menu features Spanish classics, often ...

Rich, chocolatey coffee without a hint of bitterness, courtesy of Square Mile beans and a deft barista touch. Service is friendly, and I hear the pastries are delicious. I saw the Portuguese egg tarts almost sell out...they appear to be the dessert to get!

    Holly Bush

    7 reviews

The Holly Bush is a warren of small rooms forming one of London's nicer pubs. It's a little hidden behind Hampstead tube, but most North Londoners know about it and have been a few times. The ales are fabulous and the menu is also good, although I found the portions slightly disappointing. What the Holly Bush does really well, however, ...

I went mainly because a friend wouldn't stop talking about it. I'm happy to say she was just in her praise. It was a delightful place to stop for tea and cake. I love anything sweet and this place delivered.
