    Camden Town

    Camden Town, Greater London, UK
    4
    160 reviews

Camden was the birthplace of punk, although today it is also the home of the Gap and Starbucks. There are still some funky little pub theaters, good restaurants, and fun market shopping at Camden Lock. Definitely worth a wander as part of any trip to London. It's more or less a regular stop for me, and I live here.

Primrose Hill is marked by a small park, which is surrounded by swanky homes in an upscale neighborhood. The park itself is fairly unremarkable other than a large hill providing a nice view of the area.

Covent garden is well worth a visit, particularly if are up for a good shop! It is a very quaint neighborhood, but definitely has it's quirks! When I visited, there was a man hanging upside down from a lamp post playing his guitar. This incident has perhaps forever defined my perception of Covent Garden!

On the last Friday of every month, the V&A has a late night opening. Think cocktails and champagne in the grand hall area, music, special exhibits and other fun things. A mix of the after-work crowd and families, these evenings are relaxed and enjoyable (being in a museum suddenly makes drinking a virtuous activity :-P). There's a huge outdoor courtyard ...
