Still very industrial but has a lot of potential given its proximity to the city and wide open spaces. Best to have a plan for where you are going. Harder to wander than other neighborhoods. The waterfront is the highlight and gets 4 stars in my book.

Long Island City is located in a more industrial work area right outside of New York City. While there aren't that many restaurants and groceries nearby, it's only a convenient twenty minute train ride down to Times Square.
03.30.12 - My cousins and I were walking back to the studio apartment, and we stumbled upon the set of 30 Rock! It was only a couple of blocks from my cousin's apartment. Despite the freezing wind, we stayed across the street, starstruck and excited at the prospect of seeing a witty TV show being filmed.

Long Island City, Queens - waterfront with glass towers, CitiBank skyscraper and of course neon Pepsi sign. LIC is changing few fast, new developers are popping up everywhere and a residential neighborhood is being created.
