Some time in the 2000s, Bandera petitioned the Los Altos City Council to open for lunch in addition to dinner. The Council granted their petition on the condition they change their name to Los Altos Grill, then rescinded the grant after they'd installed new signage. It will always be BANDERA to me. Great spot for happy-hour people-watching! Everything is outstanding here, from cocktails to chicken to steaks. I could be satisfied with a Caesar (their dressing is unique) and a slice of cornbread. Great kitchen theater, excellent servers, awesome bartenders and a great ambience. When we lived near "the Village" we came here regularly. It may be time for a return trip. No reservations, they open at 5 and fill up quickly.
