    Wurstküche Restaurant

    49 reviews

It's a beer hall, and you can get sausages at the back. I'm serious. If you enter from 3rd Street, you won't see the counter to order food. It's just drinks from the bar, lots of communal bench seating and lots of hipsters. No one greeted us, no one acknowledged us for a while. Some kind stranger decided to help ...

    The Little Door

    8 reviews

The Little Door isn't L.A.'s finest restaurant but with its combination of excellent food, impeccable service and a uniquely pleasing decor, it ranks in the top echelon. There is no sign on the door - just the street number. The owner is French and most of the waiters are French while the food is a Mediterranean fusion.

    Cicada

    2 reviews

The closest Gatsby-esque moment I've experienced. Stunning ladies in their flapper attire being twirled around by gents sporting a bow-tie on a Sunday night. Live 20s band singing, playing the piano, dancing, etc. That feeling that you're in another era was priceless. Right when you walk in you wouldn't believe that this is in downtown LA. You don't have to ...

    The Kitchen

    3 reviews

Great spot in Silver Lake to enjoy a hearty meal. The vibe is laid back and artsy and they have a simple menu where every option sounds delicious. Their huge pot pie is fantastic, as is their grilled chicken sandwich. Perfect place to make a pit stop before heading to a show at nearby Greek Theatre.

Ray’s and Stark Bar at LACMA

    2 reviews

They do have solid drinks here (many with enticing descriptions!) but the best part about the restaurant/bar is its ambiance - very hip and modern decor that feels a bit like the Standard in WeHo.

    Bottega Louie

    69 reviews

So sad that they increased the price of each macaron. I've been back to Bottega so many times within the past few months, but when my boyfriend and I went today, we were both a little shocked to see that the prices of the boxes had gone up - then we saw that each macaron is now $2.50 instead of ...

Cute restaurant located in the California Plaza. We tried this place a week ago and were seated in the Patio section, perfect for a warm summer night. We tried the French Dip made with Short Ribs omg so good! My favorite French dip to date! My friend had the steak sandwich also pretty good, the sandwich comes with candied bacon, ...

    Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea

    10 reviews

Seriously, some of the best coffee you'll ever have. Granted, you may have to wait in a ridiculously long line. But it goes pretty fast, and there's tons of great people watching and rotating art displayed in the cafe to keep you plenty occupied. I'm a sucker for all things alfresco and Intelligentsia does well in the patio department. Enjoy ...

    Maccheroni Republic

    8 reviews

Definitely the best Italian food in Los Angeles by far! You can't go wrong with any selection on the menu. If you like cheesy gooey deliciousness I highly highly recommend the eggplant and mozzerella. Perfection! The pasta is all hand-made and you can tell a lot of loving went into the making of it. I opted for the gnocchi and ...

    Swingers

    7 reviews

This is a classic LA joint. Built in 1963 the diner is totally retro with cozy plaid booths and at-the-counter seating. I used to come here all the time when I lived on the west side. Solid food, available til the wee hours of the morning in a super cool setting makes for a great sobering up spot.

    Commissary at The Line Hotel

    4 reviews

I like that Roy Choi cares. He ain't douche-baggin at the golf course, or douche-dippin at the strip club. He's out there at his new restaurants and observing how his customers enjoy their food. This is the case again at Commissary where I saw Roy just hovering around in the corner of the restaurant. He might have even seen me ...
