    The Getty Center

    150 reviews

Typical museums are not everyone's "cup of tea," unless there is something one really desires, target specific groups, or been forced to by a teacher to write a research paper about it. Getty Center is one of the few museums where it does not take a lot to make people come here, and they love it! The museum is more ...

    Griffith Observatory

    145 reviews

Part lookout to the city, and part exploration of the night sky, the Griffith Observatory is great perch to find yourself. It's free to park and explore quite a bit of the Observatory. They have a cafe and gift shop. As a resident, it's a mini-getaway for me. I'll walk up the hill and it's a really peaceful place. Also ...

    The Grove

    123 reviews

If you're visiting LA or live there, this is a great place for an outdoor stroll and window shopping. You might spot some celebs, but nonetheless great for some fresh (or smoggy LA) air and people watching. Typical chain stores and restaurants but still, enjoyable.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)

    93 reviews

I've had so many revelations here. The Ellsworth Kelly paintings animate and come alive, they're hung so perfectly. It's like I'd never seen the value of his work before. They do such a good job here, giving visual art the light and breathing room it needs. Do come here and see what's up. For me it's refreshing, like a waterfall ...

    Hollywood Sign

    98 reviews

As someone who just moved to the LA area, I figured visiting the Hollywood sign would be one of those overrated cliché landmarks to visit. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the hike up to the sign, the views are incredible, especially on a clear day, the smog can really be hit or miss but regardless, still worth a shot.

    Staples Center

    80 reviews

Going to the Staples Center is always a ton of fun. I've been here numerous times to support my LA teams-- Lakers, Clippers, Kings, and even concerts ( Backstreet Boys, NKOTB, and Kascade). The venue is well kept with high security and helpful staff all around. There are concession stands throughout each level, full bar and a variety of eateries ...

Have a dog? Love dogs? Love beautiful views (on the rare occasion when LA isn't smoggy)? This is the trail for you then. I came here for the first time recently and I am kicking myself for not coming sooner. Located in Hollywood, Runyon Canyon is a little hiking trail that is dog friendly and also features a dog free ...

This is a MUST see. The museum is the home of the space shuttle the Endeavour among other wonderful exhibitions. It is next to the USC campus and the Los Angeles Coliseum where the 1984 Olympic games were held for the second time. Approximately 25-30 minutes depending on traffic.

    Griffith Park

    50 reviews

I've been coming to Griffith Park for many, many years now. I am still discovering new wonders each and every time. It's a great place to hike, run, hang out with the family, people watch, play golf, picnic, and photograph LA life. The vistas from the top of the hills are gorgeous and second to none. Yes, LA is a ...

    Dodger Stadium

    56 reviews

I love this old stadium - one of the few original ones we have left. Also cool to me is the fact that they've never sold their name to a corporation; it's still Dodger Stadium. They've done a lot to improve concessions over the past few years too - on this last visit, I found kimchi hot dogs!

    Farmers Market

    50 reviews

A nice open market with tons of food stalls, fresh produce, and crafts and trinkets. It's often busy, though, and the food tent can be smelly and dirty - which is a little worrisome. But it's a nice place to check out at least once.

    Little Tokyo

    38 reviews

Little Tokyo sure is little, and it's not like Tokyo at all. Still, I'm glad there is as mall Japanese enclave in Los Angeles that I can visit, though I think there is great ramen in several other L.A. neighborhoods.
