    Hollywood Sign

    100 reviews

HOLLYWOOD!! If you're ever visiting LA, this is definitely one stop you must drop by. Where else can you get a good view of the Hollywood sign? Hollywood, famous for being the top movie/film city in the world. You cannot get up close to the sign (unless you go on the hiking trail that stops behind it), so this is ...

    Griffith Park

    50 reviews

Launched with a gift of land from Colonel Griffith to L.A. in 1896, Griffith Park now sprawls across 4,310 acres in the Los Feliz area, with 53 miles of trails through sage scrub, oak, and woodland forest. The park should look familiar as it has appeared in films such as Rebel Without a Cause and Back to the Future, and ...

    Mount Wilson Observatory

    7 reviews

Mt. Wilson has the world's largest telescopes, offering long-range views of both celestial and solar proportions. I am thoroughly intrigued by outer space, so I was like a kid at Christmas here: seeing stars, planets, and other bodies out there beyond our planet excited me to no end. The observatory is also quite famous; Edwin Hubble used its facilities for ...

    Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area

    3 reviews

A 380-acre park that offers a panorama of the entire Los Angeles Basin, including nearby working oil wells, the Pacific Ocean and close but not in earshot planes landing at LAX. There is a lovely, small lake with a well-designed, artificial stream, walking trails and picnic areas. The views provide a less publicized but still impressive panorama of Los Angeles ...

    Dodgers Stadium Club

    4 reviews

No "club" about it. Skip it. Poor in every way at last night's sold out game. They gave away my better table which wasn't "ready yet" and made me stand in the wrapped-around check-in line TWICE. No bar service - bartenders way, way understaffed and overworked. Cold and tough buffet fare and no desserts without extra $$$. Game commentary on ...

Ciclavia is a day when designated streets are close for people to bike/walk around and celebrate being outdoors in an urban environment. It brings people together and promotes walking and biking. What's not to love about that? My favorite part is discovering places (by foot/bike) that you never noticed before because you've always sped past it in your car.

    Melrose Trading Post

    2 reviews

Not as big as I thought. Paid $3 to enter and parking is free. Had a lot of booths that sold clothes I can find at a thrift shop. Few vintage clothes, lots of jewelry, coins, butterfly collections, cameras, etc. Food court: 2crepe place, 1 Mexican, 2 sandwich shop. 1talentd performer that sang cover songs that I liked. Heard they ...

    Glen Alla Park

    2 reviews

A lush, huge neighborhood park. Used to be a daily gathering for dog owners - unfortunately dogs are now required to be on leash, and a huge child playground has taken over a big portion of the park. Still a nice area to walk about with your pooch, set a work out date or sweat it out on the tennis ...

    LA Times The Taste

    1 review

This event was just as expected....Fun and Filling. The set was awesome. We went to the LA Food and Wine fest last year, and this event was just as good. The stand out vendors were Pig Feet Under, 3rd Street Station, Red Lion Tavern, Supper Club, Sweet Rose, Cliffs Edge, Huckleberry, Simon LA, and BOA Steakhouse. The tastings ranged fron ...

Rio de Los Angeles State Park

    1 review

This park is right next to the Los Angeles River but there is no access to the river. There is a pretty good playground for kids. There are a couple of soccer fields so it gets busy. There are some good walking trails but not well lit for the night.

Having four legged children requires two things...Walks and Food, and yes housing as well. I have two of them and they know their parks. They love this one! For one, its gated and two, there PLENTY of shade for them. There is room to walk around, and the people are great. I have not run into any insane, crazy, or ...

    Aliso Canyon Park

I always enjoy a good hike and great trails are the key to success. This is a great trail for a bike ride or a beginner if your just getting into hikes. Shade is plentiful as there are trees that will keep the sun from hitting you as much. From a bike ride perspective, you can literally fly on this ...

    Orange Line Busway Bike Path

    1 review

This is a great bike path for anyone that truly enjoys biking. One of the best parts about this path is the fact you not only the surrounding scenery of the city, but also can go as fast, or as slow as you are comfortable. The other cyclest that bike the same path are usually friendly and accommodating.

I always enjoy a good book, even a great book fair. A book festival that fits both of these needs is right here in Los Angeles. This is one of the better biking trails in the valley. Great paths for hikers as well as bicyclist will have their needs satisfied with this particular trail. Paths that are short enough for beginners and long enough for avid hikers and bikers, it's a great combo. The opportunities for views are also just as good. If your in the ...
