LACMA is comprised of a series of large, expansive buildings and the art is spread out throughout. The museum is large but sometimes it feels like there's not enough art to take up all the space. On this visit I particularly enjoyed Metropolis II and think it's every little boy's dream come true. Levitated Mass is cool to see as well.

I've had so many revelations here. The Ellsworth Kelly paintings animate and come alive, they're hung so perfectly. It's like I'd never seen the value of his work before. They do such a good job here, giving visual art the light and breathing room it needs. Do come here and see what's up. For me it's refreshing, like a waterfall of ideas.

Loved the LACMA, especially the Japanese Pavillion and modern collections. Don't miss the outdoor light post sculpture or Levitating Mass, a huge rock which isn't really levitating. Hmmm.

    Admission Fee

    Members: Free
    Under 18: Free
    Seniors & Students: $10
    Groups of 10+: $12
    All other guests: $15

Here is the type of artwork they got

    Modern and Contemporary Art

    American and Latin American art

    Asian Art (Korean, Japan, China)

    Greek, Roman, and Etruscan art

Here is the top 3 attraction in the museum.

I'll been be to so many museums in Los Angeles, I rank this the highest for Art museum, however I have not been to Getty Center yet, but with so many art collection to see, some are going to wow you like the modern art, i surprise they also got good amount of Aztec and Qin Dynasty artwork collection, which is rare to see from a U.S. museum, those mini figure in the Japan Artwork is so impressive. You can easily spend over 2 to 4 hours here. The thing I do not like is the museum is separate is couple building, so each time you enter, need to show the ticket again. Parking is a bit asking $15. Street parking is meter and is only up to 2 hours. The location is not great, heavy traffic and is a bit smelly.

My favorite painting in the world (Treachery of Images, Rene Magritte) is at LACMA, so of course, the museum was tops on my list of things I had to see in LA. The museum itself is incredible - the architecture, layout, and overall design of the exhibits - just awesome. I loved it. The collection is outstanding, and the temporary exhibits were fascinating. I highly recommend making this museum a priority!

Fantastic. From the special exhibits, to the outdoor art including the "Levitated Mass", the children's art area, and the central courtyard. All great.

A new tourist icon has been established here at the LACMA. The Urban Lights public exhibit is sight not to be missed especially at night. This museum has some great installations and exhibits. I went here to see Marclay's "The Clock" and people were coming in and out even at 2am in the morning.

Sometimes the exhibitions are free and I really go there for their free summer concerts on Fridays. Bring some food and alcohol to make the experience even better.

I love art. It's been a life long love. Ever since I set foot into a museum with all of its historical treasures, I've felt the excitement of exploring a world of art and culture outside of my own. The LACMA has a wonderful permanent collection as well as revolving exhibits that change throughout the year.

The best time to go? It depends on whether you live nearby or if you're from out of town. If you're an Angelino, you should go anytime after 5 pm, because at that time, it is suggested admission, which means you can pay what you want or nothing at all. That's right it can be FREE. The second Tuesday of every month is FREE as well. And if you park in one of the lots after 7 pm, then parking is FREE. For those visiting from out of town, like me, I suggest going on Sunday, when parking at the meters are FREE all day. That's an excellent deal my friends!

I went yesterday to see the ticketed Renoir exhibit, which costs $20. The exhibit had pieces on loan from the Musee d'Orsay, which is pretty cool if you don't have time to visit Paris. It was a nice collection of pieces that Renoir painted towards the end of his life and is not the normal stuff you would expect to see from the famous painter. Definitely a great place to spend the day at.

Love the free lamppost display outside (if you've never been here, you've probably seen 'em in your friends photos...it's a bunch of old lampposts...row after row of them....makes for some great photos ops and interesting lighting and angles!)
Great views of Hollywood from the top of the escalators.
This place has some really interesting exhibits on display.
I especially loved the Stanley Kubrick exhibition.
Not a lot of Impressionist art....for that, you should go to the Norton Simon museum in Pasadena or The Getty.
Fun way to spend the day!
Try to go on a free admission day and don't forget to visit the La Brea tarpits right outside and the giant rock lodged in the ground!

LACMA, you're definitely not lacking when it comes to the arts.

I've been to LACMA before, but I haven't been since Levitated Mass, the large rock from a local quarry, was put on permanent exhibit here. Saturday was a good a time as any to check Levitated Mass out and have a look at the other exhibits on display.

Levitated Mass was, IMHO, underwhelming. I thought it would be bigger! (that's what she said) Visitors have fun posing as if they are lifting the rock, of which I was no exception. It's located towards the rear of the premises. Not quite my cup of tea, but definitely worth having a glimpse.

My favorite exhibits would have to be the Asian & Middle Eastern Art. Being a fan of "Ancient Aliens" on H2, I was delighted to see the same reliefs of the Annunaki, the gods of the ancient Sumerians, on exhibit. The Sumerians were the most ancient known civilization, with the belief that the Annunaki created humans from clay. They also believed that the god Enlil, wanted to wipe out humans off the earth with a great flood, but the god Enqi, wanting to save humans, warned the Sumerian King, Ziusudra, to build a "craft" for he and his family, along with seed from all living things, to survive the upcoming floood. The same mythology is present in the Hebrew bible, with the Sumerian myths predating them.

The Asian art sculptures were a sight to behold, with their intricacy and craftmanship that have remained to this day.

The Greco/Roman & European art were fascinating to look at, as well. Highlights for me were works by Monet and, while not a huge fan, seeing Picasso's on display.

Of course, you can't go to LACMA w/o taking pics with the lampposts in the front.

Parking is in private lots and metro stops are within the area. When I went, several food trucks were parked across Wilshire for anyone looking for some chow.

I highly recommend paying a visit to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Spend a day, viewing incredible works of art and taking memorable pictures with your loved ones and friends. A must in SoCal!
