For Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, Lou Malnati's is the very best in the city. What sets this place apart is the cornmeal crust, a flavor/texture combination that works great with the heavy tomato sauce and some spicy Italian sausage.Recommended for:Foodies

If you come to Chicago you HAVE to eat some Lou Malnati's. The sauce is excellent. Bring your appetite. Deep Dish Only in my opinion. They also have carry out and ordering online to have a dry ice frozen pizza shipped to you, at a pretty penny.

One of the best pizza in San Francisco. Thin crust with great flavor and fresh ingredients. The only downside is that they don't take reservations and most of the time there is some waiting until you can get a table.

This is the best Chicago deep dish pizza. With many locations, it's easy to find one of their sit down restaurants or just a carry out store, depending on your mood. Just to warn you: it does take half an hour for them to bake the pizza when you order at the sit down restaurant. Lou's buttery crunchy crust far exceeds that of its competitors. They don't put too much tomato sauce, so it's not so sour. Their ingredients are also very fresh, adding to the taste of the overall pizza. If you get carry out, make sure to ask them not to cut the pizza. The juices from the toppings will water down the crust by the time you get to eating it at home. If you think Uno's or BJ's has great pizza, wait until you try Lou's!

Ah yes, one of the culinary highlights of Chicago. When in the windy city, you should eat some of the local treats and a Chicago style pizza made by Lou malnati is one of those treats. Don't mind the calories, just go for it, it's gorgeous!!!

Have a slice here and you can see why Chicago is known for their deep dish pizza. Yum! Being from the West Coast, nothing in California comes close. Here, you order sausage on your pizza, you get little specs of sausage meat balls here and there, order at Lou Mainati's, you get a layer of sausage on your pizza! I'm itching to go back :)

Hands down the BEST Deep Dish Pizza in Chicago. The ingredients are incredibly fresh and they pile on layer after layer of cheese and meat and tomatoes, it's a spectacular indulgence. They also sell frozen pizzas and I've had them shipped overnight across the country AND taken them home on flights before.

I love lou's pizza and the salad is amazing. I've written a bad review of this place before on Yelp. but it's real close to work and like I said I love the salad, but it happened again, I get seated for a quick lunch and no one comes, I wait, still no one comes. Plus the back room smells a bit damp and musty. I ended up sitting for 7 minutes (yep) timed it, didn't even get a glass of water offered to me, so I left. They didn't even notice.
