It takes me an hour just to cross from end to end of this huge palace now converted to a popular museum. The three most visited works of art are Winged victory of Samothrace, Venus de Milo and Mona Lisa. These three are what many of the visitors just visit but there are thousands of art pieces you can appreciate if you have time. In the recent years, the paintings mentioned in the Da Vinci code have been popular including the inverted pyramid at the exit.

It is really something! I tried to take in as much as I could but I'll have to go back again to explore more! What I was most impressed by was how each section of the museum is so beautifully and expertly designed. Each section of the museum has its own feel to it. So incredible!

Breakfast at Cafe Marly at the arcade of the Richelieu wing has become a tradition of sorts when we visit the Louvre. We usually arrive early in the morning before the crowds get there to enjoy an unobstructed view of the the pyramids. There is no better way to prepare ourselves mentally for the splendours of art and culture that await us in the museum.

GIANT! Louvre is awesome, with soooo many art pieces that you can't see everytinhg. We stayed all morning walking (fast) and can't see like 1/4 from all museum. Its a place that you would need 2 days to see everything! That pieces are awesome and well conservated. But has many many persons there.

The glass pyramid help bring the Louvre to the current century. This cultural treasure is a must see in Paris. Both the structure and contents are gems.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out the price of food and drinks at the cafe in this museum were mostly cheaper than prices at outside restaurants. After thinking it over I thought my prior 4 star rating may have been a little too stingy.

You can't go to Paris and not hit up the Louvre as one of your destinations. It just way to monumental and internationally recognized to not say you've been here! You've seen the Mona Lisa.
Not going to lie, the Mona Lisa is very anti-climactic. You'll see for yourself.
Even if you visit the tip of the Lourve it is something! It's such a beautiful setting. I think I spent more time taking pictures at the tip than within the museum.
It's definitely a full day event unless you speed through all the rooms.
At least you should go just to say:
" I went to Paris and saw the famous Lourve!"
Highly recommend going at night!Recommended for:Art & Design Lovers
