Lub d means sleep good in Thai and we loved sleeping there, and so did everyone else we met and talked to at Lub d. There are six computers with free Internet, wi-fi in the rooms, a warm croissant/coffee/banana breakfast, and wooden chairs with big arms to sit outside on the stoop in at night when you’re knackered from walking around Bangkok. The staff is sweet and arranges little informal events like club crawls, Thai cooking courses (they can teach you to cook vegetarian dishes if you want) and other events. It’s definitely a clean place to stay. I had never seen a hostel take air conditioning units down from the wall and clean them until I stayed at Lub d. Also, the duck noodle place across the street is cheap and damn good. This Lub d on Decho Road is a little bit bigger than the other Lub d Siam Square, but the Siam Square Lub d is even closer to a sky train (BTS National Stadium) stop. This Lub d on Decho Road, in Silom, is about a ten-minute walk to the Chong Nonsi BTS station and about 15 minutes to the N1 Oriental pier.

Loved Lub d in Siam Square. They gave detailed directions from the airport to the hostel. Great accommodations, the first couple of nights I stayed in a four bunk then opted for a single. Loved the decor, location and the staff was so helpful. They were able to store my backpack (yes I always pack too much) when I left for the islands. I would give this 10 stars if I could.

Lub D is a fantastic hostel off of Silom Road in Bangkok. The common area is a great place to meet a ton of people - it has a bar, 6 working computers, lots of tables, etc. The staff if super friendly and will help you with whatever you need. Free wifi throughout. Most of all though, the places is spotless! You can rent a private room for pretty cheap and it's clean. The area is pretty safe. The first night I arrived I felt a little unsafe walking around because I wasn't familiar, but after that I had no problem. Around the corner is a little street with lots of food vendors, great for breakfast or dinner. Thai massage shops around the corner also. Highly recommend.

Lovely people work here. We arrived bleary eyed at 5 am in the morning after catching an overnight bus and had no idea that check in was at 2pm. This was not a problem, the staffs were so accommodating. They are also really active with the backpackers that come and stay here. There are organised pub crawls, walking tours and even cooking classes. We took the cooking class yesterday. I think I will now be able to master a green curry.
Rooms are clean, a twin room contains a huge red bunk bed with some of the comfiest mattresses I have slept on in a hostel in a long time. The room contained a study desk with a chair, a safe and a place to hang your things with a fresh towel provided. The décor feels like they have turned Bangkok inside out with the amount of concrete and steel but it feels warm and welcoming, contrary to how this kind of architecture can make me feel sometimes.
