I did dinela here and was actually a bit disappointed. I got the pear salad which was good, but my ricotta dumpling main course was quite bland. The hazelnut cake was far too sweet and the short ribs that my friend ordered was a bit top dry. Was hoping for better as the meal was not cheap - $130 for 2 people. Perhaps I tried all the wrong dishes!

Exceptionally good American / French fusion cuisine in a lovely setting. This James Beard award-winning chef doesn't live off of her reputation and still delivers excellent food. The indoor / outdoor setting is signature LA and a wonderful urban oasis.

From the moment you step beyond the leafy facade, you know you're in for a special meal here and understandably this West Hollywood institution attracts a smattering of Tinseltown cognoscenti. Unfortunately that means garden tables are somewhat rarer than a sponteneous act of charity by Leona Helmsley. The menu is best described as Mediterannean with Californian influences, with surprisingly reasonable prices for the scale of place. Refreshingly less pretentious and more consistent than much of its clientele.

I had an unbelievable lunch here...chicken, of all things. And it was one of the BEST chicken entrees I have ever had! The food here is fresh, tasty, and while the menu may sound basic, it is far from basic. Everything has a refined twist. You must try out Lucques if you're in the Melrose area. It is definitely a fine cuisine treat for anyone in or out of town.
