I couldn't decide what was better about this little stop, the food or the people watching. Law students, blue collar workers, Veterans in memorial hats, tourists, locals; People of every shape, size, age and background crowded into this little shop and I soon discovered why.
The food was fantastic.
My California Burrito was perfect and the seemed to be exploding with lots of wonderfully prepared carne asada. You will want to come hungry portions at Lucy's are large.Recommended for:

Okay, this place is the bee's knees. I'm serious. I found out about this little taqueria when I was working on a trial in downtown San Diego-- it was the team's go-to breakfast joint. The area it's in is a little sketchy (right behind the hall of justice, surrounded by bail bond places), but they serve up some of the best Mexican food I've had in a while. Definitely the best time to go is for breakfast; the chorizo burrito is out of this world.
Step up to the counter, order, and then step to the side-- it gets crowded and there's a procedure. They'll call your name when your food is ready.
