A gorgeous city and one of Europe's most dramatically situated, Luxembourg City makes a nice stop in between the cities of Belgium and the German wine country. Plus, you get the novelty of visiting one of Europe's smallest state. But understand that the country, The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is more than just Luxembourg City. Although its capital city makes for a great introduction. Luxembourg has a long history and the city has been one of the most-fortified on the continent. One of the most enjoyable things to do in Luxembourg is simply walking along the Corniche to view both the upper and lower towns. Pick up the excellent-value Luxembourg card which allows entry to all museums and onto all public transportation throughout the whole of the Grand Duchy. If you have only a few hours, the Tourist information Center distributes fee maps and a recommended two-hour self-guided city walk.

This small city and country is a very neat place to visit. It is compact enough to be able to see the major sites within a couple of hours. Very modern and very cosmopolitan atmosphere. The police woman was driving a Smart Car and she was wearing a short skirt - arrest me please!

I only passed through Luxembourg on my way to Belgium so I didn't get to see much. Luxembourg City was clean, beautiful, and full of smartly dressed people going about whatever Luxembourg does. Lunch wasn't bad, but I don't remember much of it.

Almost everyone I know say they hate Luxembourg... but I don't know why. Nice buildings, nice people, all good as far as I'm concerned. Actually scheduled a layover here on purpose once so I could spend a day just hanging out.
