The best park in Paris -- small enough to feel intimate, with a carousel, bees and lovely paths to walk

The Jardin du Luxembourg is one of the most beautiful parks I saw while in Paris. Great place to walk or bring a picnic.

Wonderful place to bring a picnic or walk around. There's plenty to do for active folks (think running or tennis), for children (pony rides!) or for those just looking to soak up some sun and culture.

As beautiful as it is historic, this is great place to rest after walking the city. Quality people watching opportunities!

The gorgeous park has a classic "guignol" show, or puppets in English. Harlequin is of course the star. I went as a child, and my niece loves it today!

Особенно впечатлили пальмы и цитрусовые деревья, бережно сохраняемые в оранжереях зимой и выставляемые на улицу в теплое время года.

I am a big fan of all gardens and parks. When I am in a foreign country my first thing to do is to walk in their parks. I really love Le Jardin du Luxembourg. If you have the opportunity just go and see :)

I did enjoy sitting in Jardin du Luxembourg for some much needed rest after hours of walking. During the summer people sit around on chairs for a little sunbathing. It is a great place to do a little people watching.

Description

Most people browse through old photos when they're homesick; Marie de Medicis built the second-largest public park in Paris instead. For long, romantic strolls, few spots beat the Jardin du Luxembourg, conceived in 1612 by a team of royal gardeners partially drawing from Florentine sources. Currently located in the Luxembourg Palace, it functions as the gardens for the French Senate and houses the beautiful Fontaine des Quatre-Parties-du-Monde.
