I wandered in here on a rainy day, not expecting to love it. It was fantastic and interesting! The Lady Bird gardens were totally worth the visit, too.

Located on the campus of the University of Texas, this very interesting museum features a variety of permanent & changing exhibits. Admission was free until recently. However, at a cost of $3 - $8 (& free for active military & children under 12), this is money well spent! Upon arrival, you can explore LBJ's presidential limo. The permanent exhibits are ...

This stunning piece of architecture is a must see for anyone touring in Austin. The Tower was the venue for the UT Sniper, which any tour should provide you history on. There is also the ability to visit the Observation Deck in the Tower as well. If you are lucky enough to be in Austin during UT's graduation or a ...

I like this place. It is a great looking bar. There is often good music, and despite the fact it is so close to UT, I feel comfortable there. It is not too much the sorority/frat boy crowd of 6th street.

This is a combination pool hall/bowling alley. They games here are the cheapest I have seen in a while, $1.50 per game for students and slightly more for others. There are only twelve lanes available and there are periods when all are full. The oiling on the lanes is unpredictable.

Butterfly Bar is a relatively new bar located in the recently hip Manor area. This pub is mainly utilized by the physical science and engineering people (both students and faculty) of UT Austin. Their outdoor seating is noticeably larger than their indoor seating. I have seen people bring their dogs with them to sit outside. They have generic bar food available as well as some alcoholic beverages.

This rating is for the "Our Body - The Universe Within" exhibit. Fascinating! Donated human bodies have been preserved using a "plastination" process, which enables all of the muscles, skin, and organs to look intact. Probably not for the squeamish, but it's a very interesting exhibit that should be experienced!

Gethsemane Lutheran Church was built by Swedes who has made Austin their new home. There is an interesting story surrounding this beautiful Church that bears telling. In 1881, the Texas State Capitol was destroyed by fire. The Gethsemane parishoners scavaged through the destroyed capitol building, and took the bricks and other materials and proceeded to build this Church a few ...
