M on the Bund is a cool, high-end restaurant with great views of The Bund itself (if you get a table by the vindows that is). The food is very good, but is served in fairly small portions. They often have lunch deals which are good value. This is a place for people looking for a high-end lunch or dinner spot in a great location.

14/20; Food 5/10, Ambience 4/5, Service 4/5. Although the building and decor itself isn't too inspired, the location is absolutely ace due to the view. Pudong, most of The Bund, and all the river shenanigans are best enjoyed from a seat outside, weather permitting (probably not worth going if its not). Didn't test the kitchen too much as went there for brunch and they managed eggs and such, albeit not memorably well. But won't forget the view any time soon, and that, after all is most of the point of going here, in my estimation.

I went there for their brunch and it was pretty amazing for Shanghai. The portion size was perfect, as in not super huge Mc-westernized portions or teeny tiny fancy smancy portions. The service was at times slow, but everyone spoke English and it's a gorgeous, bright, and airy restaurant with a terrace and a great view of the Pearl Tower.
I had a peppermint tea and orange juice, along with mushrooms and polenta and a frisee salad with duck confit. The polenta was really well flavored, savory without being too salty or buttery, and garnished with big flakes of parmesan.
The portion was perfect for a starter. The peppermint tea did not taste as strongly as peppermint as I would like and the strainer caught a disappointingly small amount of leaves. I think part of my disappointment was the fact that I didn't get the coffee, which came in its own French press and smelled really really good.
The salad was more of a duck leg on a small bed of greens with a lovely poached egg. The duck was on the dry side, but the greens had that nice bitterness that contrasted well with the meat.
The other two people I was with ordered Eggs Benedict and I was told that the eggs were perfectly poached.
Overall, I would totally go again, except for the fact that I'm fairly sure that it's priced outside of my budget.

Not sure about this. It's a great place to bring foreigners to, however the main selling point is the view and the terrace overlooking the Huangpu River.
If you do go, eat a light snack before you go, because you definitely will not get full. If you're there just for drinks, well...you found the right place!
