If you're visiting New York City, Macy's Department Store should be one of your top destinations. It is simply one of the most beautiful buildings in the world, and shopping there could be an all day affair.Recommended for:

Macy's one of the most popular store on 34th street, is so much fun when they decorate the windows , everybody stops by to see the beautyful decorations, people has to make lines to see it. The childrens they get so amazed by looking at it. Macy's is also known for the Thanksgiving parade. It's awsome.Recommended for:

This flagship store is the New York landmark sister of London's Harrod's. Sort of. While Harrod's has an almost multicultural "small world after all" offering of shopping, experiences, and food, Macy's is almost exclusively a clothing and perfume galleria. Still, it is enormous...and a great shopping oasis for New York visitors.

This is the original Macy's, wooden escalators and all! And because it's old and big, it's really confusing to navigate. This is a good urban hiking stop for a peak back in time while utilizing their restroom facilities. Oh, and you can buy stuff here too.Recommended for:

This store is always hideously crowded, but there are always great deals, so I push through. During the holidays, the outside is beautiful. There is also a flower show here in spring.
For you bargain hunters with out-of-state IDs, make sure you hit the cellar floor before getting started: At the customer service desk, you can get a card that will take an additional 10% off your purchase!

If you are visiting NYC, don't forget to take your passport or id to the visitor's center to receive a 10% off pass good for a month. Macy's carries everything, and generally has good prices and sales, so even though it can be packed and annoying, it's worth the trip.

If you're in search of a one stop shop for everything you want, Macy's not a bad place to have in mind. I like the Ralph Lauren selection they have here. If you're an international visitor, be sure to get the visitors pass and a 10 percent discount on everything you buy at Macy's.

If you are a foreign visitor and are looking for stuff to buy because it's cheaper here than back at home, stop at Macy's, it IS HUGE. Do note that they will give you a 10% DISCOUNT on your purchase IF show them a foreign PASSPORT! Yup, that's right you get a discount just for not being American!
If you are stuck accompanying a shopper and are not into the shopping experience look around the store at the architectural details. There's some great stuff to look at both inside and outside. They also have great displays during various holidays. Their spring flower extravaganza is a site to see! One thing NOT to miss is the original wooden escalators (year round). Just go up a few flights and you'll see them. That's worth riding. It's amazing that these things still operate!
I do think that Macy's is often very crowded no matter what time of day. So I personally avoid the store as a result of this, but if you are a tourist...

Macy's is a large department chain that has outlets all over the US. THE Macy's to visit is of course the flagship in NYC. How can any shopaholics, fashionistas NOT pay homage to this largest department store in the world?!

Fun fact: Macy's on 34th Street in Manhattan was Macy's first store opening in their retail conglomerate. The best time to visit this Macy's is between Thanksgiving and Christmas when they display some of the best holiday decor in New York City.
