All the biggest acts of the world always stop in New York City! And when a big act comes to town you can almost guarantee they'll be heading to Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks and Rangers are the only New York teams that actually play in Manhattan these days. When either is playing a home game the surrounding neighborhood of Chelsea is jumping. Aside from the home teams, other exhibitions are held here. Ali-Frazier I & II, the US vs. USSR (not the Miracle on Ice) and countless exciting college basketball games have all been held here. The Garden is also one of the city's main concert halls. I saw Cold Play here in 2005 and it was phenomenal.

One of the best venues in New York to watch both concerts as well as sport matches (Knicks and Rangers). Great acoustics for rock concerts!

Go for any event. An iconic venue. The shrimp cocktail and hot dogs in the Delta Lounge are stellar.

Let's face it Madison Square Garden just isn't as fun unless I'm sitting there watching the Rangers play. But putting my bitterness towards the NHL aside, this is by far one of my favorite venues in New York City. I've had some wonderfully exciting moments here. However, you've never experienced the Garden unless you've been to a Rangers game. There's no other way to experience the pride and passion of a New Yorker.

I have been here for a plethora of Knicks games as well as concerts: Phish on New Years Eve and recently saw Jay-Z and Kanye West perform together. The concerts were mind-blowing. If you are in town, definitely check out the event schedule on http://www.msg.com/.

Madison Square Garden is a great stadium for basketball. I guess my biggest fear when going to these places is trying to leave. However, MSG is able accommodate plenty of people and also it is quite easy to leave from here.

Madison Square Garden is easily the most famous arena in the entire world. A landmark of New York City, you'll have the most fun seeing the Knicks or the Rangers here. It also serves as a fantastic venue!

Madison Square Garden is the second oldest arena in the NBA. Given its long history and, of course, because it's home to the Knicks who are a great team, it's fun to catch a game here and immerse yourself in the New York crowd for a good ol' game of b-ball. I watched the Knicks play here a few years ago and had a great time. Be prepared for insane crowds not only within the venue but everywhere surrounding it as well.

Description

This mega-famous arena was built on top of, and in place of, Penn Station. Host to international events, concerts, and speakers, Madison Square Garden is the beating heart of fame and media in New York City. Is it the center of the Universe? Maybe not, but it certainly feels like it.
