Madrid, Spain's capital city, has hidden gems everywhere you turn. It is a gorgeous city that is kept relatively clean. There is loads of stuff to do from museums to parks and the Spanish love to keep their nightlife lively, no matter what day of the week it is!!

I think most people who have spent a lot of time in Spain are either Madrid people or Barcelona people. I am more partial to Barcelona. However, having said that Madrid is still an amazing city. Great museums, active night life and plenty of great restaurants. Like Barcelona it is also a great sport city with one of the world's best soccer teams Real Madrid.

Madrid is steeped in history. The culture is rich in historical significance. There is an abundance of art museums. There are plenty of restaurants to try. Shopping is plentiful. It's one of the most walkable cities I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. The metro is straightforward. Be wary of beggars and pickpockets. Enjoy your time there. Salud!

Madrid is beautiful. However, I prefer Barcelona, which I think is more lively and friendly. With that said though, Madrid is still a great place to see with many historic sites and buildings, places to shop, and a beautiful park. Not as many people speak English here as they do in Barcelona, but there are still a good amount that do. This city seems slower and more relaxing, especially in the daytime. At night, though, the city becomes alive!
