We have all different colors, white, gold, black, red, green and types of sand in Hawaii because of the volcano but the green sand beaches are my favorite! I took my brother to them when he came to visit. We had a great time exploring the martian like landscape of the Southern most point of the USA.Recommended for:

Way down near the southernmost point in the USA, this olive-colored sand beach is composed of olivine crystals. You can walk down to the beach from the makeshift parking lot, but watch out if you leave your car here, as break-ins are not uncommon.Recommended for:

Drive to south point then walk left along a dirt road (too rough for my beater rental car) to a beautiful cove sparkling with green volcanic glass. Isolated and fabulous. The riptides are wicked so be careful.
