This is where the high rises and the elite are found. I have the chance to work in one of the big buildings here and I enjoyed every minute of it. I was so in awe of the beauty of the buildings and its interiors. A dream come true cause since I was young, I really wanted to work here. I felt like I was one of the elite who had the chance to work here. Ayala Avenue, Buendia, Makati Avenue, etc.

Makati City is Metropolitan Manila's busy financial district by day, and glittering entertainment center by night.
Makati has a lot to offer to travelers from the jet-setting to the backpacking type. You will have a wide range of selection when it comes to shopping and dining. From thrift stores to high-end label brands; from popular street food like balut and taho to posh fine-dining cuisine and even a weekend organic market.
If you're up to it, take a jeepney ride and get lost. You can always hail a taxi to take you back to your hotel anyway. After a busy day of shopping, you can go to Greenbelt Park and people-watch while having your mocha frap. If you're looking for some history and culture, there's the Ayala Museum or you can go to the historical sites of Old Manila which is just about an hour away... depending on the traffic.
And when night comes, bars and clubs light up the streets of Makati's business district - a perfect way to end your day in this city of tall glass buildings.
So if you're planning to visit the Philippines, spend a day or two in Metropolitan Manila and make Makati your base. It's also near the airport.

I truly love this place.
All the shopping, eating, dining, drinking, shopping and what not that you could want is all within walking distance from each other. The area is really a financial district where a lot of higher end retail is located and where a lot of ex patriots and foreigners like to hang out and relax and have a good time.
I really cant say enough about this place but I understand that some people may not like it because it's a city space. But there's so many other places to go for your nature needs.
