This quiet little town was our hometown for five nights. Good location to discover the island from here.

How could you not like Paia? Great shopping, superb food, and a wonderful grocery store. Life is good.

I lived in Haiku when I was on the island. Its not much of a town - probably not worth a visit if you are here for a week. But its a nice community in the beginnings of the jungly part of the island.

I enjoyed staying here over the other parts of the island despite everyones despite distaste for all the condo buildings. I liked the atmosphere of this town as opposed to some other parts of the island that can be a bit stuffy. There are some great beaches here, it's centrally located on the island, it's got some great restaurants and ...

My second home and a true paradise! Ulua beach is still the best beach I have been to in the world! No better place to relax, snorkel, dive or run along the oceanfront path.

Chart House was my favorite

Kahului is the city where you will likely fly in and out of the airport. There are some nice amenities here, like Costco and Whole Foods, but the truth is, you will most likely leave here as quickly as you can to head to the resorts. This is not the destination in Maui, but it is a great resource if ...

It's a shore dive, and the reef wraps around the shoreline, easy entry easy exit. And we saw about 50 black brittle starfish here.

The Maalaea harbor is the second windiest harbor in the world after a harbor in New Zealand! The inside slips are odd numbered and the outer slips are even. Parking can be challenging if your trip departs later in the morning. At this time, you can park at the Maui Ocean Center but at some time in the future it ...

Outside the Sugar Cane Museum on Maui. (Of course it's outside--you wouldn't want a Golden Shower inside.)

Absolutely one of the gems of Maui and a pocket of "funky old style" Hawaii. I suggest the pastries at Grandmaʻs Coffee house, or hot dog from the Fong Store if you are hungry. Even if you dont need gas, please stop at Mrs. Chingʻs General Store and gas station and fill up. Must pay first, unless you are an ...

The most happening town on Maui! Lahaina has an abundance of restaurants and bars. It is also where you will catch the ferry to go to another island. If you want a bit of fun in the evening's then you should stay in Kaanapali which is only a 5 minute drive from Lahaina Town.

Perfect. Paradise! Everything is beautiful, so clean! A week is not even close to enough time to spend here!

Loved Kapalua.....beautiful views!

This is a nice portion of Maui on the west coast, with Kapalua heading north and Lahaina heading south. The beach is very nice, and is anchored by Black Rock on the north side. There is a boardwalk, and Whaler's Village is in the middle with shopping, restaurants, and other places to explore. This stretch is filled with luxury hotels ...

I think the beach park in Honokowai is the best beach to bring kids to. You have the beach and the sea bed creates small cliffs a few feet out which creates a barrier from the crashing waves and a safe "pool" where kids can play without you worrying they might be washed away. Besides this great feature though, it ...

I am probably not in the majority when I say that I really love Lanai City. It is a complete contradiction of both of the main hotels. What it does offer is charm and personality. Good enough for me.

This ain't a big city, folks. This is small-town Kaunakakai, the biggest nerve center on Molokai. Locals come here to do their shopping, gossip, eat out, or have a drink and listen to live Hawaiian music at the Hotel Molokai during Friday happy hours.

Really enjoyed this part of Maui and honestly will try and stay here on our next visit. It's located just north of Lahaina and Kaanapali and is a quaint town with arguably the most beautiful bay in Maui. Lots of turtles here to snorkel with and lots of flat water for kids and for paddle boarding.
