    Kuala Lumpur Tower

    65 reviews

You can take the hike to the top of this mini-hill in KL and see a cool little Malay display. There wasn't too much to see around the base of the tower, some shops and some set up historical information but if you are not planning on paying to go to the top, then it may not be a necessary ...

    Batu Caves

    74 reviews

The Batu Caves are very impressive and is no less than 30 minutes outside of downtown Kuala Lumpur. You have to walk up around 200 steps (I had to walk in the rain but I was not deterred), but it's worth it. Hindu temples are set up inside and there's a massive hole ceiling at the top.

    Mt. Kinabalu

    22 reviews

Kinabalu is a nice climb with beautiful views from the summit. I'll be controversial and advise against climbing at sunrise which is what all operators advise you to do from Laban Rata. I regretted it due to the extreme cold, the queues up the first half (and unpleasant selfish behaviour by some climbers on the ropes and summit) and the ...

    Kek Lok Si Temple

    31 reviews

Kek Lok Si Temple is nice and provides a wonderful look-out view of Penang. The temple itself has a kitschy feel, as if it was newly constructed so some parts don't quite have a lived-in look that makes temples unique and historical.

    Sample the street food

    17 reviews

A must! There are a number of street hawker areas... some along the beach that cater primarily to tourists. However, there is one where all the locals go that is more inland... I'll post the name as soon as I remember it (sorry).
