Great wine and the best part is you can bring a picnic! We tried both their flights, ordered a couple bottles of wine, and relaxed in the sunshine while enjoying a ton of food that we brought. Great for groups whether large or small.Recommended for:

I have been coming here for years and am amazed at the increasing popularity. From an off the beaten path "best kept secret" to the top of every LA couple's/ bachelorette's/ tourist's list. Yet it somehow manages to maintain its charm and folksy feel. Check the live music schedule and pack a picnic.

This winery has a nice green picnic area where you can chill for a whole afternoon if you'd like. It's a great place 4 couples & groups.
There's music /live band in the evenings on their little stage in the evenings so that's a nice touch w/the little lights they have hanging around.
There's also a horseshoe game on the side for those who get bored easily.
The winding roads around this area make it a very nice scenic ride, perfect for a weekend get away from the hustle & bustle of busy LA life.
FYI, Bring: your own food / picnic basket here, (stop by Trader Joes/ Costco/ Albertsons/ Pavillions to pick up foods/snacks/drinks) the food offered here is expensive & gross. (1 customer even returned the half eaten pack of food of hers b/c it was so bad)
Bring a blanket / beach towel to sit/ lay on b/c it can get pretty crowded on the weekends & all the tables & chairs are taken up fast.
They don't let you bring other wine bottles into the area.
The wines compared to the other wineries from other wine countries (i.e. Sonoma, Napa, San Luis, Santa Barbra) they are not as tasty & good as & the bottles also tend to be pricier than those too.
If you got the Groupon deal for this then it's a really good deal =)
I would say that this winery is about the same level (quality & price) as the Temecula wineries that I've been to.
They really need to hire more employees to pour their wines for the wine tastings, the lines @ the wine bar can get pretty long on weekends.
They don't let u leave the wine bar while you're tasting (which sucks since there's no chairs there & you end up standing the whole time)
Park on the side of road b/c their parking lot fills up fast on weekends.

Pack a picnic and enjoy live music with a bottle or two at Malibu Wines.
For the romantic types, may we suggest packing a picnic and spending the afternoon at Malibu Wines. The grounds are absolutely beautiful – you feel like you’re in Napa – and the wines are quite affordable, with flights costing about $10 to $12 and bottles starting at $16. The employees are friendly and helpful, so you don’t have to worry about them looking down at you for not grasping the difference between “hints of raspberry” and “subtle undertones of blueberries.” After you’ve finished your tasting at the outdoor wine bar, buy a bottle of your favorite and sit down to relax at one of the picnic tables or on the grass. If you’re here on a weekday, it’s quiet and relaxing, but if you come on a busier day like Saturday or Sunday, they have live music. Make sure to pack your own food since theirs is overpriced (when it’s even available). You can prove what a sweetheart you are by bringing your man’s favorite food, but if he is a garbage disposal who will consume anything, just pick up hummus, pita, and other goodies at the Trader Joe’s that is right off the freeway. We also recommend bringing a blanket along, because (1) it can get chilly despite the heaters, (2) on the weekends, you might need to set the blanket on the grass since tables can get snatched up, and (3) how cute it is to snuggle under a blanket with your beloved? So cute we might throw up.
