Mamaison which directly translates from French to “My Home” offers, a small home away from home. The hotel has a distinctly French feel and could easily be mistaken for a small bed and breakfast in the south of France. In fact, it is almost that as Mamaison has no restaurant but serves a wonderful “American style” breakfast with sausages, eggs, and pastries. Neatly tucked in the heart of Budapest just off the beaten track, the rooms at Mamaison are actually tastefully done apartments with a stove and a kitchen so visitors do not even need to leave the residence, perfect for a romantic weekend getaway. However, that would be a mistake as Mamaison is located in one of the prettiest parts of the city just off Andrassy Boulevard which was modelled after the Champs-Élysées in Paris. A romantic promenade in one direction will take you past the embassies towards Heroes’ Square and the City Park while walking in the opposite direction will take you towards the Danube past the Art Academy and the Opera House as well as a large number of excellent cafés and restaurants. Of course if you would prefer to utilize the kitchen in the apartment and show off your culinary skills during a romantic meal at home, all the ingredients you could possibly need are available at the Hunyadi Market and the adjacent gourmet food shop Culinaris just a few blocks away. Also be sure to visit the Lukacs Café just around the corner which is one of the city’s most elegant cafés offering exquisite pastries and old world charm.

This is an all suits hotel, which makes it one of my favorite places for comfort and convenience. Just off Andrassy, one stop on the underground from the Oktogon or heading the other way you are on your way to Hero’s Square, Szechenyi baths and the Gundel.
Units range from one bedrooms (45 m2) to 3 bedrooms (97 m2) with living room, bath and kitchen. Overall color scheme is soothing beige. The entire apartment is bathed in sunlight and the windows look out on a beautifully landscaped courtyard.
Breakfast is not included in the price but is served for 12 Euros extra (there is a children’s corner set up in the breakfast room). There is a fitness center for guests and underground parking available to guests for 16 Euros per night.Recommended for:
