really good selection of restaurants, a bit pricey. Also usually is the place where most of conventions are happening, so might be full with business folks, don't be surprised to see crowded with "suits"

This hotel is really nice. The decor is beautiful, the food is awesome. We stayed there during the PBR Finals. There was a party every night. They have beautiful ladies everywhere willing to offer you your favorite beverage while playing your favorite tables or slots. The staff is friendly and ready to help. Their breakfast buffet is huge. It is comes with a high price, but it is worth the money. All the restaurants there had really good food and service. I could see the strip from the living room, and the mountains from our bedroom. It was quite large and was more like an apartment than a room. It had two full baths and each area is a different room to make you feel like you were at home. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in fabulous Las Vegas.

The rooms are nice here! The hotel has shows and shops and restaurants. The only bad thing is that it's at the beginning of the strip, so you have to walk a lot to get to places or ride a cab. There is a tram to the neighboring hotels but by the time you walk all the way into the hotel to get to the tram, you could have just caught a cab. Some hotels, you have to walk far into the hotel to go the tram. I would stay here again but only downfall is the locaton.

We came to Vegas for a long week at the beginning of March 2008. I found a great price for the 550 sq foot room + nonstop air from Baltimore on USAirways.com. They beat every single one of my usual travel Web sites (note: this was through their vacations section of the site)

I had never been to Vegas before and was there mostly for work so this review isn't geared towards the casino experience.

The room felt plenty large for my husband and I and we had a lovely view of the entire pool area from the 19th floor. The bathroom is large and has a TV and a phone, if that matters to you! The beds were very comfortable as well and the enormous flat-screen TV had my husband drooling.

The pool area was fun for short periods of time but I found the crowds a little weary. We're not all inclusive types of travelers and the crowded pool and tons of children made me think of what an all inclusive resort would be like. The wave pool was freezing and there wasn't a single person in it. Oddly, the other pool's temperatures varied every day. One day it felt like a warm bath, the next freezing and back again.

I guess what surprised me most was just how expensive Vegas is. We thought breakfast at Starbucks would be the thrifty choice for breakfast until our rude awakening at the cash register! What would probably cost us $15 at home (and we live in a city) was $25 here. My husband needed allergy medicine at the sundry shop and had to fork over $16 for Claritin. It was pretty painful.

The Border Grill was great (both for lunch and dinner) and room service actually seemed pretty reasonably priced.

The elevators were slow, often didn't work and were generally an irritation throughout the weekend.

We didn't mind being so far down on the Strip and I liked watching the planes land from our bed! That being said, anyone who doesn't like walking or has physical disabilities might want to look at one of the more central casino/hotels. There is a tram to the Luxor and Excalibur but that seemed like more of a bother.

Mandalay is a great place to stay in Vegas, it has updated rooms, it is economical, it is far enough away from the center of town that you don't get riff raff, the pool is huge and very nice. Good gambling, good food, good nightlife.

Enjoyed exclusive dining and lounging @Forbidden Room for members only, the views from the 64th Floor, lunch buffet, and UFC fights.

It's a bit off the main part of the action, but then you might like to be able to take a breather every now and then. Plus, the hotel itself is absolutely stunning, and there's tons to do: Rumjungle, Red Square (with it's really great vodka martini menu and ice bar), Mix and the House of Blues (for great food and music) to name a few. The pool area is also outstanding, and you can also opt to hang out at the Moorea Beach Club, an area reserved only for those over 21 years old.

The Mandalay Bay Resort was a more upscale hotel. The pool area was closed when we were there, but the rooms were nice. Casino area was clean and more upscale dining.

Mandalay Bay was definitely a really hot hotel at one point, however, it still maintained very well, even though it's a little bit on the far end of the strip.

Mandalay still has gorgeous rooms and is still a popular spot for business people during the CES show in January. They actually also have some well-known restaurants such as Red Square (cool, Russian vodka bar and restaurant), & Aureole.

Beautiful but lacking in service. I would not stay here again. Also know someone who fell & broke their arm & hotel didn't take responsibility, didn't react timely in getting him help & was horrible to deal with.

Sure, it's at the end of the strip but Mandalay Bay remains one of my favorite hotels to stay at while in Vegas. Rooms are always great with wonderful, comfy beds. I'm a fan of down blankets/pillows and theirs are deluxe. And for some reason, I always seem to order room service when I stay here. I think it's because by the time we wake up from our "disco naps" we don't have much time to eat dinner before going out for the night. The food is always good--but you pay dearly for it. And then there are the pools. I love the lazy river, the "beach", and cabanas.

    It's the quintessential Vegas Hotel!

Although somewhat dated now, this late 90s behemoth is still a nice hotel. However, the location is at the South end of the strip keeping you away from the other parts of the strip. Everything is a cab ride away.
