I'd like to think of Mandalay Bay as the seasoned veteran who's been through it all. Don't get me wrong, it's still a very nice hotel regardless, but it's considered to be one of the older hotels at the end of the Strip (see Wynn, Palazzo, etc.).

The hotel really does offer it all; a mini shopping mall so you don't have to step foot outside into the blazing 100+ degree weather, or if you're not into shopping, you can hang out in the different pools; the general pool, wave pool, etc..

My most recent trip to Vegas included dropping by for the Michael Jackson One Cirque du Soleil show, right outside the Michael Jackson theater. While waiting for the show to start, we decided to explore a bit and stumbed upon a Fat Tuesday. Score! There's also various restaurants inside the mini shopping mall if you don't feel like stepping outside for food. Or you can always gamble, but that's a given in Vegas...I'll definitely consider actually staying here the next time I'm in town.

The rooms are great and refurbished!
The hotel has lots of bars and restaurants that are great...
It is a good place to see a concert but mostly the vast array of swimming pools that are on property offer something for everyone.
Do not miss the Lazy River!

If you love soaking up some sun and taking in fresh air then this is the hotel to stay it. There are many Hotels located off and on the strip that have amazing pools, but the Mandalay Bay one ups everyone else with the Mandalay Bay Beach. Yup that's right; a beach. The Mandalay Bay Beach is located on 11 lush acres that features real sand, a wave pool and 100 cabanas as well as day beds, personalized villas, and bungalows. What a great way to spend the day outdoors; playing in the sand and catching waves!

I enjoyed myself here. The only downside was the pool being too crowded. Other than that, it was great.

I mainly spent my time at the Mandalay Bay in its enormous convention center, which is a great place to hold events on a larger scale. But I did get to explore the hotel a bit, and really enjoyed the wide selection of restaurants, cafes, and things to do inside the building (if I had more time, I definitely would have checked out the Mandalay's shark aquarium). Their pool resembles a water park and their casino is pretty standard for Vegas, but I would certainly stay here if I come back for a longer trip.

Great hotel, great 'beach', great pool. Loved it. Can't wait to head back. I'll definitely be staying at Mandalay bay again. Oh, and don't forget to try out the wave pool.

This is a great property. One great thing is the ceiling in the casino is high, meaning it cuts down on the smoke. The shopping mall attached is great as well, you can walk to the Luxor with out having to go outside, great for those days when the heat is too oppressive.

I give this place 5 stars just for the pools! Great pool area with wave pool and lazy river! The only thing about the Mandalay Bay is this place is towards the beginning of the strip so you must taxi everywhere especially on those hot summer days!

Granted I haven’t been to all the hotels yet, but so far, I would say the pools at Mandalay Bay are the best. In addition a few normal pools, including one for kids, there is the tide pool that pushes ocean-like waves at you and also the lazy pool where you can grab a float and just enjoy the sun while floating around this pool leisurely.

I prefer to stay and play at Mandalay Bay and The Hotel because it's at the end (rather beginning haha) of the strip. Which I really like because there's not too much walk through traffic. There's nothing worse than when you're playing at a table and some punk walks in and ruins the deck in play because they want to throw down on 1 hand to see if they can make a quick buck. (Can you tell I'm appalled by this? Lol) the only downfall to Mandalay bay is the lack of yummy food options. Making this [my] only reason to have to leave and venture the main strip.

In a city where everyone awaits the "next big thing", this hotel at one time was exactly that. But that was a long time ago and since then the hype has died down and now The Mandalay Bay is just another hotel on the Strip. The rooms appear to be a little tired, but are still more than adequate. They are spacious and clean and offer quiet which is a good thing after a long day of convention going.

As most hotels here, there is no shortage of dining choices and the casino is easily accesible for those willing to lose a few.

Very nice, amazing food at this resort, the only drawback is that it's far from the area

First time staying at Mandalay Bay for our Vegas trip. Needless to say, it was okay, but I have definitely experienced better and worse.

The parking lot is extremely far from the elevators to the hotel rooms. You have to walk pretty far, and if you're lugging all your suitcases ... well you are going to have to lug it for a long time. Our hotel room was pretty nice with a great view of all the pools and the Lazy River that was not open because it was winter. Two queen sized beds, a table with chairs in the corner, a small couch that looks like it should fold out in an L shaped, but was just a small block, a TV in the room as well as in the bathroom, and a big bath and shower.

Gripes/complaints about the hotel room: the mini fridge is completely stocked with alcohol and soda and there is a sign that says if you even take out one alcohol bottle, you will immediately be charged. Good thing I saw that as I was planning to take out all the small bottles to take pictures of how cute they were! My mom was pretty upset at the fact that we couldn't even use our mini fridge.

The toilet is in its own little room with a big heavy door that immediately swings close after you let go of it. There is no vent fan and the door automatically closes, so how could we air out the odors? We found a cup from the gym, crushed it, and used it as a door stop. The toilet also flushes incredibly loud, so when I went to the bathroom at 3 AM, I woke up my parents when I flushed the toilet, haha.

The bed is too soft. I never thought I would encounter a bed too soft, but I could not get a good nights sleep the two nights I was there. I usually can fall asleep on any bed, but I could not get myself comfortable in this one. The pillows were way too soft as well. A big fluffy pillow that sunk all the way down to the bed once I laid my head on it? Not good. And I found random hairs stuck to the pillow case! My mom thought the sheets were too rough, but I thought they were decent.

Fitness room: Very big and decent sized with lots of cardio machines. They even have somebody there while the center is open (5 AM-8 PM I believe) to fold towels and make sure everybody who enters is a guest of the hotel. Each machine has its own television and these machines are state of the art! Ellipticals, treadmills, bikes, an arm spinning machine, etc. They have a very cold water filling machine as well with plastic cups. Don't forget to take your water bottles to get them refilled! They offer towels and headphones. HOWEVER, you are unable to use the weights as the weights come with the sauna where you must pay $25 a day. That sucks.

Pool and jacuzzi: Came on a pretty cold day, so it was incredibly windy and cold. Got some towels and jumped into the pool. It is quite narrow so there isn't much room to swim. I was trying to swim laps in the pool, but once people are in there playing and talking, it is quite impossible unless you continue to go around them for each lap. The jacuzzi is very powerful and can fit a lot of people. It isn't that hot, which is good as I know it isn't good to stay in the jacuzzi for too long. However, it could be warmer, especially during the winter time. The pumps are really powerful. I thought it was disgusting that a lady was eating a hamburger while sitting in the jacuzzi. Bathrooms for the pool are clean.

Resort fee: $25 for resort fee is too expensive. I believe they charge the same price or maybe a few dollars more for during the summer time, which is understandable as people tend to use the pool more then. But in the winter when the man made beach is closed, the wave pool is closed AND the lazy river is closed, it really isn't fair to charge the same amount. What if people don't want to use the pool or wi-fi? The wi-fi didn't even work very well. I had to constantly reconnect and usually, the wifi was so slow I just resorted back to using my own phone's data.

The location of Mandalay Bay is fair, but it's a little far from all the other hotels on the strip. Good exercise though. Beautiful golden windows that you are immediately greeted with once you are off the freeway. Probably won't be back to this hotel. Need my sleep in Vegas!

This is a nice resort property with basically three hotels in one building. You have the Mandalay Bay, THE Hotel, and a Four Seasons all right here. The Mandalay casino is huge, as is the pool. Nice resort. Worth a stay for sure.

This joint would have been higher on my star list if not for a couple of issues on my last stay here... overall though I do like this hotel and have been here multiple times.

However on my last stay here I noticed the following things that made me disappointed and/or to shake my head in pure wonderment:
    * There was mold in the shower on the ceiling and on the caulking
    * There was lipstick on the pillow shams, confirms that they werent changed and washed! Which I always figure is the case... who knows what else is on those things...
    * The no hat policy for the regular bars in the casino proper??? Seriously WTF... but flip flops and t shirts are ok? I mean can we at least have a sensical dress code here. You can go hang out while wearing flipflops and dance even while wearing basically anything but a hat.

I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE NO HAT THING. I am a hat guy. I love wearing hats. If someone wants to wear a hat in a bar after 7pm when they are buying drinks why forse him to take off the hat? Is "hat hair" really so much "KLASSIER"? I dont think so in the slightest.

    Some other observations:
    * There are options for both free and paid wi-fi
    * Great amenities like the Shark Reef, Wave Pool, Lazy River, etc
    * Most of the table games have higher than average limits for the strip
    * Lots of great free parking =D
    * Its a great venue for concerts where even the back seats have a decent view of the stage and you can hear everything quite well.

The beds were comfortable and not overly soft as many hotels can be. The towels were fresh and that made me quite happy. Nothing worse than getting stained towels or ones with pubes hanging out in them...

As my last trip was a work related trip, I found that I was comfortable working at the desk and was able to spend a few hours there completely a bunch of photo editing without issue before heading down to play in the casino next door. =)

Overall I do recommend this place, unless you like to wear hats. Then its like you’re in the hat Nazi zone if you want to hang out in one of the various bars or lounges there.
