Mandarin Oriental

222 Sansome Street, San Francisco, CA 94104

This hotel is located conveniently for anyone working in the finance district, SOMA or just visiting the city. I think all the rooms have pretty good views of SF but some are truly exceptional, looking right out across the Bay. This goes for the restaurant too - makes for a great breakfast.

I spent several nights here over the course of a client project I was working on just up the street. The Le Meridien is in a great location- close enough to walk to the pier and the Ferry Building and close enough to a plethora of great dining options at all price points. The lobby and grand floor are quite ...

Great location. Close to Union Square, easy walking to a lot of the fun things San Francisco has to offer. Happy hour/wine reception daily, which is super nice. Dog friendly, which was another pro (and a must when we picked this place). Will consider staying here again if I'm looking for an overnight in the city for sure!

Club Quarters is located in the financial district of SF. Not only it’s a good location for business travelers, but it is also conveniently located for exploring the city’s attractions. Embarcadero waterfront with its many restaurants and shops, Chinatown, Union Square, MoMA, Yerba Buena Gardens area – all are within walking distance. The rooms are fairly small and simple but ...

Great hotel if you are a fan of the W's hip, faux-botique vibe, like I am. Super comfortable, spacious rooms, some with great views of the city. They have a cool bar in the lobby and the location, walking distance to SOMA, Union Square, the Embarcadero and the SF MOMA is pretty tough to beat. Parking is, unfortunately, very expensive, ...

Excellent location and, boy, are those beds comfortable but somehow feels like it's an historical attraction which has had all of its charm squeezed out. I was upgraded to a double king deluxe, which was pleasant and mercifully soundproofed despite facing on to Market Street. If only the same could've been said of the soundproofing between bedrooms: I was treated ...

This was in 1980, the last stop on my first ever coast-co-coast tour of the US. Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan were slugging it out for the White House (hmm, how did that turn out?). The Ritz tops our list for luxury San Francisco hotels. We love the opulence, apparent the moment a top hat-clad doorman welcomes you into the classical entrance. With its perch atop the Stockton Tunnel overlooking Chinatown and downtown San Francisco, the grand dame of hotels offers a host of elegant touches: massages, a sumptuous dining room, and superior service. Hint: ...

I am instantly transported back to old San Francisco when I'm here. From the gorgeous guest rooms to the history of the Top of the Mark, I have this feeling of reconnecting with what it must have been like to be in San Francisco in the 40s. Here are the many reasons why: 1) Location - very close to Union Square, one block away from a BART station and plenty of other public transportation nearby. 2) Free wine - hosted evening wine hour with nibbles. Fancy time! 3) Rooms - fairly big for a metropolitan city; ...
