Jewish Deli Restaurant meets modern style. More than ample portions and a dessert serving that will make you feel guilty if you don't go to the gym for a week after eating it.

Update: I used to love this place, but I just took a star off because we went there and had a terrible experience. It actually seems like they had a change of management or ownership. We actually left Manhattan and went to Elmer's and had a great experience there.

Settle into a vinyl booth, order an egg cream and a hot pastrami sandwich, follow it up with a slice of really rich NY cheesecake, and then waddle out the door of this Jewish deli in the desert. I'm never disappointed by the ginormous plates served up so fast at this diner. My only complaint is that the brisket was kinda dry. Oh, well. Never mind because I've still got approximately 999 other things to try on the multi-page menu written in 9-point font.

Don't go to Manhattans unless you're hungry, hungry, hungry. The portions are large and the selection is amazing. They offer over 100 different sandwiches on the menu... in addition to the dozens of sides and entrees. Their desserts are not to be missed, so you may want to split a sandwich with a friend to leave room.

When you want to find a New York style Jewish deli in California, this is one of your best bets. Incredibly long menu, but this is where we go when we need to take something for lunch on the plane when we fly out of Palm Springs. Excellent sandwiches here.
