Largest small boat harbor in US. Rent boats, kayaks, bicycles. Many restaurants. From Fisherman's Village area take tour boat around the Marina.
Check out Burton Chase Park on Mindanao. Beautiful views.

Cool modern architecture, beautiful weather and homes. There are lots of options in terms of activities from dining to gyms but they tend to be chains which is why I give the area 4 stars

Marina Del Rey is famous for being the biggest marina in the world. Beautiful everywhere. In my opinion this is a must see attraction if you visit Los Angeles.

All of the beauty of LA's Venice Beach, with none of the crowds, noise and garbage. I love this beach - it is broad, clean, beautiful and feels so good to be on. It's really in the heart of LA, but it feels a million miles away.

This is a real nice area to visit. The places to eat, the boats and the water combine to give a sense that you are in some small coastal town not an extension of the LA area.

Description

Just a few minutes’ walk from LA’s Venice Beach, Marina del Rey is noticeably more chilled, far less muscle-happy, and with fewer crazies populating the promenade. The marina is the largest man-made small yacht harbor in the world. Wholesome seaside relaxation is the name of the game, with Fisherman’s Village one of the prime attractions. This is a replica of a New England fishing town, and a ... read more
great place to enjoy views of the marina and wander around the cobblestoned streets. You can join fishing trips, splash out on a dinner-and-dance cruise, or rent your own boat, kayak or jet-ski. Burton Chace Park offers arguably the best sea views, and is the place to go for a gentle stroll or a fresh seafood picnic. Marina Beach, also known as Mother’s Beach, is a great spot for families - it’s a sandy beach but doesn’t face the ocean so there’s no surf, yet still plenty of space for swimming and other non-motor water sports. And if the relaxed pace of Marina del Rey is too soporific, there’s always the eclectic attractions of Venice, or, a bit further on, the Santa Monica pier.
